CIC interview request in Ankara by email? Real or Fake?

Its a long story which I will tell you one day if I ever run into ...I will tell you over a cup of coffee

But the short answer is because Im being sponsored by my spouse and the visitor visa allows me to stay here with my spouse.

I guess that is what they wanted to do. Make the temporary RV, to work as a TEMPORARY RV. They normally assume it is a visit, and you reside elsewhere. You cannot stay for 12 continuous years on a TRV because simply your stay cannot exceed 6 months. Now normally you have to leave, go to Ankara and do the interview and convince them that your whole marriage is not an extension to the stdy permit - work permit - TRV series so that you can keep living in Canada. and IT WILL BE VERY TEDIOUS if you give that little details you gave here to them.

If they didn't ask your wife to attend the interview, she does not have to be there. Usually they only interview the applicant; very occasionally they also phone the sponsor to interview them that way.
If your wife is with you in Turkey, and comes to the embassy, the visa officer might ask her to come in and would then interview her. The visa officer might not either - it is up to the officer.

I first came as student...then worked for a few years...only recently have I been on a visitor permit
