Why does Beijing request your passport if they're going to call an interview? Beijing won't start the process of issuing a PR visa before a decision is made -- i.e. at the interview. So holding the passport before then doesn't save any time, and the PR Applicant might need the passport before then.che.the.spy said:congrats green eye bunny.
We just got an interview request for Nov 2, so we've got a trip to beijing coming up, and hopefully we come back with a visa in hand.
This is more serious in other embassies, that take much longer than Beijing. Nevertheless, asking for the Applicant's passport before a decision means the applicant is without the passport for weeks, or even months, and this seems inconsiderate on the embassy's part.
Does anyone understand why the embassy asks for the passport so early?
