Hi,
Can anyone please help me?????Again....

I sponsor my two year old daughter from Canada, she is with us here on TRP.
I have been informed by CIC that they have approved my daughters PR application.

BUT, she born in UK, so her file has been transferred to CIC London, UK. And now have to go to UK for passport submission.

My problem is that we (I and my wife)can't leave Canada, even for one day due to PR obligation.

So I called CIC here in Canada, but the call centre agent said that she can't do anything,

Is there any way - option I can ask CIC to transfer my daughter's file from UK to Canada for passport submission?

My case will be declined if I will not find any appropriate way.

Please please advice on this matter. :(

Appreciate all your help,

Thanks in advance.

There is mail between Canada and the UK.

You should be able to apply for her UK passport via post. No requirement to go in person.

I'd assuming the child already has a passport, and this was a request for the passport to do the visa.

If the child needs a UK passport, you can apply within Canada. As far as I can recall from 1996, it takes about 2 weeks. Just checked and now it's at least 10 weeks.

^I think first passports are longer? Not certain. (I am gearing up to do mine!)

Hi,

Thanks for your advice @ mapleson & @schnookololy

But my daughter already has british passport, the thing is CIC london, UK office is aksing me to submit her passport for PR visa stamping,

My problem is that i cant travel ourside canada due to pr obligations.

Is there any way I can request CIC Canada or CIC UK to transfer my daughter's file from London UK to Canada?

As i heard that to send passport overseas via mail is criminal offence and customs either here or in UK can seize the passport sent via Post or Courier (like FedEx, DHL).

Is this true that I cant send passport by mail?

Thanks for your help

No it's not true. Just mail it. Use a reputable courier with tracking service.

If you think it's illegal to mail a passport, then there would be a specific law in either Canada's or UK's criminal code. But there isn't.

You don't have to go there personally. Just mail the passport to UK...

I mailed my son's passport to the Philippines through Canada post..and Canadian embassy Manila sent it back through DHL.

In fact, for some visa applications Canada require you mail your passport internationally.

You are sending the document to the Canadian government at their request. Even it there were laws, the UK won't know how it got there and Canada wouldn't prosecute you for doing what they wanted.

1. If the child has a UK&C passport, I bet the OP is incorrectly reading the message from London. It probably says that she should just mail copies of all pages of the child's passport to London. The passport is no required for most(almost all) visa exempt persons. Then London would just mail the COPR.

Hi All,

Thanks for your advice

@PMM, so do you mean that i dont need to send passport but only photocopy of all pages, to get PR for my daughter?

And what is OP?

Thanks again
