I am really worried as i have left my old employer and joined a cruise ship - on the cruise we have very little and expensive internet service and no contact address. I am worried about what will I do if I get Medical Request or something. Our ship travels globally, right now I am in spain.

hi I m prashanth. I used to work in the cruise lines also as a cook. Now I got a big problem that I was asked to submit pcc from Italy and us along with medical rprf and passport.

I hv applied in Sept 2011 and did medical in Feb 2012. Passport reached ndvo on 9 Mar

Dont worry give ur mail address to any of ur family member and ask them to check daily. Once they send the medical u can sign off from the ship and come bak. It's very easy to sign off from ship. I worked for 4 contracts in ship.

Anybody from NDVO with "Medicals Received" line updated in the last 15 days? Mine is still not updated although they received it on 15th March.

I am wondering if they are skipping this step of updating it.

we wl b given 45 days to submit. I told the visa office that I did not stay in any of the country for more than 6 mnts as crew members always travel to a different place. So they sent my query to appropriate section for the necessary things and asked me to send the rest of the things.

u need one day for medical and one day for pcc. Then post everything to vo

The MR request will have atleast 45 days time for you to complete and send back. So, you better have someone at home constantly check the email, and plan accordingly.

My case is same they asked me to submit Pcc from FBI if I have stayed in U.S for more than six months. I Explained them about c1d visa and did my medical on 17 Nov 2011 and send PPS on 18 Nov. my dd was encashed by them on 5 DEC and Iam still waiting for my passports. I have already applied for caips notes to know the possible reason for delay. some of chefs and cooks i know who worked on cruise ships got visa without FBI pcc. Iam hoping for same for all of us.

I think they will do the needful and give you the stamp finally. If they didnt want to give you a stamp without a PCC, they would have strictly said so in a letter to you - stating that the case would not go forward without the necessary PCC's. I think that the CIC is fairly good at communicating with us.

That said even a local police station say in Italy or spain or the US will not have any record about us, or will not know what to do - as we are not residents of their country, we are defined as "transit crew personnel" - all who work for airlines or shipping. Our stay in these countries is not more than 8 hrs.
