Aslamualaikum I have a question when we send our passport thru VFS service and they give us a tracking number to track the passport that Islamabad embassy received it or not.
So it is the same tracking number which they will give us the info that they send back us our passport or there is going to be another tracking number?

Hi, I have been following this forum since my case got filed. Indeed, it has been very insightful as well as commendable help in understanding the process of Canadian Spousal Sponsorship immigration. My case is through & the only thing left for me is the visa issuance on the passport. I sent my passport on 25-Feb & it was received by Canada Visa Office (Islamabad) on 26-Feb. My only question is when can I expect the passport to be returned with the visa. I want to get a rough idea of how long does it take for the visa to be issued on the passport as there seems to be no way of contacting the Pakistan High Commission for Canada

From Start to finish. How long does it take for spousal sponsorship cases from the day the application is submitted to the day Passports are stamped. Sorry for the over simplified question. But I'm finally contemplating immigration :)

Pakistani timelines.

processing time is 1 year to 3 years.
All depends on your luck
the best estimate i can give you

Hi All,

I want to share what happened with me due to poor services of CIC with regards to closing an application on time and informing the applicant. As my issued visa kept sitting with them for 3 months and I received it 1 day before its expiry.

My timeline is
Case submitted: Mar 2014
Transfered to LVO: Apr 2014
Inprocess and Decision Made: Nov 26 2014
PPR: Jan 8th 2015
Passport received back: 27th Feb 2015 at 8.00 pm

Visa Issue Date: November 26th 2014
Expiry date of Visa: Mar 1st 2015.

Entered Canada as an immigrant: 1st Mar 2015

I am glad that my case was processed within 8 months, but the torture of entering Canada on time and planing my flight within 3 hours of receiving the passport was awful.

It looked like CIC Had no plans of returning it for another few months until our MP pushed them. I just want you all to be extra careful with delays and their poor services.Thanks.

Alhamdullilah, my wife's visa has been issued after exactly 1 month (submitted the pp on Feb 9). Will go tomorrow to VAC in Lahore to collect the pp.

"Visa application, tracking ID No.20150209xxxxx – Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office ISLAMABAD, on 10/03/2015 to the Canada Visa Application Centre."

Thank you to all the members for their continued support and prayers. Insha Allah every genuine couple will be reunited soon.

Thank you! For us, the status had always been medical has been received since sponsor approval stage, so no change at all!

My spouse is a canadian citizen, we are living in Pakistan, happily married for 3 years. We have a child together (born in Pakistan) who also has his Canadian citizenship certificate now (and also his Canadian passport). If I apply now for the spousal sponsorship, does the above fact make our case strong AND does it expedite the process in terms of timelines?

Thanks in advance.

The timeline remains the same for everybody.. There is no priority processing for citizenship cases.. They only doubt that might be created with such a case in visa officer's mind is that your spouse has been in pakistan since three years.. Your relationship is genuine no doubt abt that but thats not the only thing they look into while processing cases.. They might ask u that why yout spouse did not return to canada earlier after marriage.

Got ppr today... Finally.. Alhamdullilah
