CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2012 -2013

Hey guys,

Total Newbie here so bare with me.

So I got married in PK in December 2014, and I started working on the paperwork finally. I filled out all the paperwork and am starting to gather up all the supporting documents. Now do we need to send all the originals for the Birth Certificate, Nikah Nama and Education Certificates? Because I heard when you send originals you don't get the file back after it has been approved. My beef with this whole thing is if we send in the Certificates and orignal Nikah Nama we won't have them anymore for future reference. They say for all other countries you need certified copies of the documents so why do Pakistani cases need to give up the original documents?!!!!

Any help is appreciated as I loose my mind ... ???

Alhumdulilah, ;D My wife finally got the passport request today. E-CAS showed DM on Nov 14, 2014. Got the passport request after about 3 months.

For birth certificate and nikah nama they must be original.. For educational documents it varies... I have observed that for male applicants, as they should be working , you need to submit originals but i havent seen any document request so far which states to submit originals so far.. And for females including me i submited copies attested by a govt. officer. But i submitted my work experience letters too which were original. They sent me medical request but no further documents/ originals were asked. So it varies may be because women are usually home makers in pakistan so may be they dont bother to ask for originals.. But again thats what i observed.

You would get back your original nikah nama. I got mine after 6 to 8 months. As soon as they scan, the return it to the sponsor in canada. For marriage certificate, they dont send it back but u can always get another from union council on request and its paid. For educational documents, i have seen people struggling to get then back.. I guess you ll have to email and request them after your case processing is done.
