Situation:

Mother is Pakistan and a Canadian Citizen. Father is Indian and in Canada on a work permit. They are both divorced now. The daughter was born in US (mother is a doctor and practices in US), therefore daughter is US citizen (1 year old). Does the daughter qualify for Canadian Citizenship or Canadian PR? Can the daughter have dual citizenship ?

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply! In this case, can the mother apply for daughter's PR (in order to get health card etc. so when she's visiting there's no problem) ? Thanks again.

A.A! Hoping u will be fine and having good health. I inquired from LVO through e-mail and their reply (about a week ago) is as under.
“Dear Applicant,
We are writing with regards to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
We haven't sent you a passport request. Please note that this file is still ongoing routine background checks.
We will be in touch when they are complete."

Kindly share experience how much further time it takes to complete routine background checks, pls?

Hi SamDuos,

Can you please tell when you emailed LVO? How long did they take to reply? was it 1 month or earlier?
thanks for your help.

From my understanding, backgroud checks depend on applicants travel history, work history (militray etc.) and i beleive takes longer for Males then for Females. Some say can take 1-2 months, possibly more.
