No, you can't apply for student visa while your spouse sponsorship is pending....

How come someone can stop you for education? Strange....needs verifications

If someone get TRV then why not student visa......both are same type.

Is there somewhere I can verify that?

Hmm when do they usually called for interview? And how many days before interview do they contact you??

I used the following web forum to ask London office about the location of my file and I got a confirmation within 24 hours stating that my file was with them.

Folks,

I read this forum time to time to learn about the situation in CHC and people in the process. My wife is a Canadian citizen and we have our spouse case in process since 2012. I've been called for medical around September 2013, and october. The online application status shows medical results have been received.

Now, what made me compelled to write here is that I became Father on 19th Feb this year and I'm desperate to be with my baby girl and wife. They both need me.
CHC asked me and my wife about her medical and pregnancy reports which were provided and they added those to our file.

Please suggest me something that I should do now to be with my family asap !

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THIRD REMEDICAL : (i read this comments on the forum so sharing)

I have heard of people doing a third medical exam, but it might not be necessary. Officers now have the ability to extend the deadline for exams done within 15 months.

Detail are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp This is up to the officer's discretion.

How is trv and student visa the samething? One is for visiting and the other is for studying. A visa officer knows the he/she has applied for spousal visa and that their optimal goal is to become a PR. Which basically means they are there for permanent residency. Student visa is for education, whereby an indiviual is supposed to study and return to their homeland. Not land in Canada and kill time in the name of education.

Trv is for visiting, many are rejected some accepted. VO knows that we applied for PR. Unfortunately, they have to give a few visa's. Whereby, they make money. For rejection and acceptance.

If a spouse gets ppr, you think he/she will finish her 3yr course at a university paying international fees?. No, they drop the course and degree come back to pakistan and get their visa stamped. That will have an effect on the university and immigration Canada. They want stable income for 3-4yrs for international students. What they don't want is a married spouses who are killing time and will bounce as soon as they get ppr.

Hi Everyone,

I just was curious what it says on CIC's website about which Offices now take care of Afghani & Pakistani residents applications now.

this is what it says now:
Applications from residents of Pakistan are being processed by the visa office in London

Applications from residents of Afghanistan are being processed by the visa office in New Delhi

This is good news IMO! Means that their timeline will apply to our cases as well from what I understand
