In my experience (based on 3 interactions) they do respond. Once they told me they dont have my wife's file in Islamabad. I had to call Mississauga office. I was given agent Id and date when the file was received in CHC-ISB. I wrote them again with all this info and voila they found the file :)

They replied me last year after two months now also one month ago no reply bt mp mp contact them and they answer my all question as they received passports.

We have to be in touch, what about ur spouse landing? Pls share complete landing info if landed

Unfortunately, the average Canadian thinks it is right for Pakistan spouses processing times being so long (95% of the time). I mentioned this to several Canadian-only people including coworkers, some acquaintances and such...even some people on this forum (not Pakistani)...say "Oh that's too bad" but then they add "well it makes sense though seeing the marriage fraud cases and background checks they need to do for there" or something to that extent. Then it makes me sick to think I know people like this.

It's just that they know they will never undergo a situation like this so they think it's fair even though if they ever had to go through it they would have completely opposing thoughts...but that's how it is. It sucks but it is what it is.

I'm sorry to hear u've gotten that response.... my response has been quite the opposite..... I used to work in a rural ONtario community n most of my coworkers (who were from the area) were shocked to hear that its taking this long.... n they all agree that no one should have to wait this long to bring their spouses over.... while they know that background checks etc are needed... which I also agree with.... but it shouldn't b taking them this long to do it.... the fact is most of the time the applications just sit there catching dust...... CIC needs to make sure the embassies are staffed appropriately to handle all the applications that come in and must ensure no application sits around catching dust.....

IMO getting the media involved will be the only way we can pressure this govt to make changes.... sadly our so-called pakistani community leaders have failed to raise this issue to the attention of the upper levels of govt

Only 3 questions they asked at landing:

1) Name and place of birth of husband
2) Where does he work
3) Address where he lives

No I mean landing procedure, is immigration officer ask any question and custom officer?

The only thing i see in the future is that the people will avoid getting a spouse from Pakistan.

It's looking like they want to discourage spousal sponsorship..... I read somewhere (maybe it was here.... i can't recall) that it was Jason Kenney (former immigration minister) who said at a social gathering that ppl should find spouses in Canada n he came under heat for making that comment.... but that goes to show this govt's attitude towards spousal sponsorship

But I don't think its working..... there r still ppl who r marrying in Pakistan.... it shouldn't be the govt's business where we want to marry!

I think London office is helping processing files of Pakistan applicants.
Islamabad office is backlogged I guess, perhaps nobody wants to go work there from Canadian officers due to security issues.

I mean, they have to remain locked in diplomatic area all the time, how much time can one spend without going out?
Can't blame them.

London already processes a lot of Pakistan cases in the skilled worker class, now they also doing family class.
This is good, I've heard that Paris, France office is also assisting for Islamabad cases these days.

With GCMS, files can be processed from any office......it's all electronic/online.

You don't need to worry, rather, you should be glad your file was not send to Islamabad !!

Divorce rate in Canada is 52%.......so it is not surprising that people go to Pakistan to get married.
People are scared to marry here man.

I find it quite surprising that we lay the blame on Pakistan. I will equally blame my country of origin (Canada). Yes, there are many major issues brewing in Pakistan from terror activities to corruption. However, it's no different in Canada/America. It's just portrayed differently. Yes, Nawaz Sharif isn't a righteous leader nor is Stephen Harper. This guy came into government in 2006 by violating the election spending limit over 18.3 million dollars. (That's something a Pakistani politician would do right?). Harper shut down our Canadian Parliament twice. If the conservatives can shut down our parliament down. Slowing down Canadian High Commission in Pakistan is joke for his government. If he can spend 29 billion of our tax money to buy stealth fighter jets (to fight who exactly?), can't he hire extra visa officers in Ottawa?. It's not all Pakistan fault, the brake is being pulled from where we are sitting (Canada). It's the conservatives, if the liberals had Pakistani bringing their spouses to Canada withing 6 months (max) just a few years ago from CHC (yes believe it or not). Pakistan hasn't become a major terrorist in 8 years or so. So why? Why, did Stephen Harper's chosen immigration minister raise the timeline so considerably?. What did we do to piss him off that bad?. Salmaan Taseer? and Shahbaz Bhatti?. Yes, unfortunately, these two were politicians and were friends of Jason kenny. Jason Kenny didn't really enjoy the news of them both being assassinated (even though Mr.Kenny urged them to stay in Canada). So, we hit Kenny where it hurt him and in return he hit us back. If Pakistan was the issue by itself without Canadian involvement, then spouses wouldn't be getting visa for UK in 1 month, or france for 8 months, or italy in 12 months or even USA is less than us in Canada. Apparently, we were carrying Osama Bin Landen in Abbottabad and as we know USA "hates" OBL. Though the country who "sheltered" the main terrorist is still getting visa in the country that was looking for him faster than Canada. (Who believes that story anyways, its as true as "weapons of mass destruction in Iraq" or that so called terrorist "Gaddafi" in Libya). Basically, yes, Pakistan is in turmoil (So is Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and pretty much every other country). But we just pressed the wrong button at the right time.
