since there is no minimum income requirement to sponsor your spouse i suggest you file your application asap, as you never know how much more rules they have changed by the time he gets a job n u guys complete your papers n file the application. from experience and this forum i have learned tht it takes a while to fill out the forms and get your application ready, i suggest u guys start working on tht, n leave the parts on the questionaire about employment, if he hasnt gotten a job till then, just write unemployment n send the documents, but maybe by any luck he gets his job real soon you guys can just fill in the latest details

I would suggest going ahead with the application, as I was unemployed for more than a year and I am still unemployed. i got the approval as a Sponsor. there is no income requirement for sponsoring a spouse. Although I was on Employment Insurance and attached my previous Tax notice of assessment. Also I attached a letter from my Father saying that he will support us when my spouse is here.

I don't think they can reject him as sponsor based on the status of employment. The application processing time is already long enough I would not waste a moment and complete your paperwork and send the application ASAP.

It encouraging as far as the application is concerned and discouraging as far as the job market is concerned. Has your application process been completed and the sponsored person landed? if so how long did it take and if not how old is your application. Whom are you sponsoring?

Got Quebec selection in june or may i think (been awhile lol)

Meds are expired since dec 9th 2012 i believe (no remed yet)....

yes inshallah.....ok i got my CSQ in march and med expired in nov....no remed here too....God knows wen will we get it....but very soon inshallah....

when i enter in by UCI#...My ecas status changed to "in process" under sponsorship application status. What does this mean? is anyone else in the same senario. Please share.


Also i am reading some of the posts, i disagree tht going to MP is a waste of time...i think they do help, just depends on who they are.. I went to see my area MP, first thing he said was, i am not able to speed up the process, all i can do is get you a status update. So he found out for me that my physical file is in ottawa, and electronic copy has been sent to islamabad. The two offices work togather to process applications based on risks etc, and that i should check back with him in 4 months time.

sponsorship application should be decision made .. because you got approved as the sponsor and PR application should be application received or in process

If you are planing to apply for your case I would say it is too early for you to do that because right now you will not get information. So wait for atleast a years or so to do that...
Well answer to your question ..K basically go to cic website and pay the 5 $ online...they will give receipt..print and fill the blanks..name address etc
Download and fill out forms 5563 and 5574
So on form 5563...ur requesting under access to information act..by email...on own behalf..electronic file
and in section C, u r the requester...only canadian citizen can request
form 5574 will be the consent , your spouse who is in pakistan will be in section 1 and he/she have to authorized by signature to disclose information to you.
Send these two forms ,scanned payment receipt and a copy of ur passport to atip-aiprp@cic.gc.ca
I have sponsored my wife and I followed this which they have confirmed is the right way.
