So what do they the letter which tells you that your are eligible to sponsor if not called AOR... Coz in my case I got a letter after three or four month which I was under impression called AOR.. Which gave me information that I am e elegible to sponsor n now file is in islamabad with my wife application number... Anyways again would say this discussion is totally useless .. Coz doesn't really matter if its called AOR or FIR ..
We are all in same boat and we have long way to go... So enjoy..

Just to clarify stage 1 is approval of u (the sponsor) eligible to sponsor. Cause for some people who have criminal records or any other problem stage 1 is important to consider as well. However, when the applicant receives a letter that's what you call AOR. not alot of applicants receive AOR after late 2011 which is tottally not a big deal. I tell you my timeline so you can get an idea.

Ecas changed under "application received" "in process" February 19, 2013.

waiting for PPR possibly I'll get Re-pcc along with ppr.

However, for some people that I know they hear nothing, after the approval letter from case processing in Canada until re-medical + ppr.

Hey everyone question from ottawa people feb2012 applicants whats your ecase status
Mine wasnt working for few days finally i can access it and it shows in process they added an. Addional line we started processing your case on may.... Dats when i received my aor is it a good sign ?

I have the same thing as urs.. And to be honest it is nothing but just an additional useless information... Coz I got right after my Ecas started working.. So still keep praying... INSHALLAH will get it on the right time ...

my timeline is same as yours sisters, but nothing so far
Ecas just says "received your application for Permnent Residence on .... Feb 2012"

and can any one plz tell exactly when they started to transfer file to ottawa ,?/////// i hav seen october 2011 cases stated to complete(which i think were the simple cases ).... but there file has not been transferred to ottwa

I think November 2011 onwards file were sent to Ottawa. One meber Ali.Ca can clearly tell us where his file was because from November 2011 cases he is the only one so far who got ReMed request.

Like as one belong to Karachi case processing time might different than of the one belong to ISL, or LHR cases, as there case been processed faster than Karachi candidates . IS it so?

Mine never showed they recived it but On GCMS notes has the copy Attached of doc recpit (or whateve that paper is called you get from doc when med done )

secondly mine expired on 1 Oct haha n no responce from them as my file is in Ottwa and they never do any corrospondance i read this on one the post when people
staterted to know there files are transfering to Ottawa so

Applying for CAIPS notes through Acccess to personal Information Privacy Act since I am in canada. What is the difference between "privacy act" and "access to information act" as there is no $5.00 fee if we apply under privacy act. Forms first question is, select which act you are applying under, AI-Act or P-Act.

all the guides i've seen for GCMS/CAIPS notes mention that you need to go through the access to information act, and that trying to bypass and save the $5 will only result in delays and then coming back to let you know that the request falls under the "access to information act" and you need to provide receipt of payment.

i believe that the difference is that the privacy act can only be used to inquire about your personal infromation, but for the GCMS/CAIPS notes you can't do that for yourself since the principal applicant is not a canadian citizen or a PR, so usually the sponsor will have to request it on their behalf, that is what the access to information is for.

i haven't seen any effects that the city would have other than delays in mailing/couriers.

That is called Assessment of Sponsor Stage 1 and here in forum it is indicated as File transfer.

Problem is most people here didn't got AOR and got the approval + AOR together after some months. But the normal steps are AOR to tell you not to worry that they have received your Sponsorship file and allot your UCI and File number to follow online how it is going. Once approved they send you an other email in which they tell you that they approved your sponsorship and the File will be transfered to xxxx VO and contact of that VO.

But as a lot of people received AOR with their approval like you, so you think that approval = AOR which is wrong.
