Hello everyone,
I really need some good suggestions/views on my situation, I'm really stressed out here. I also would like to tell that I sent the application to sponsor my wife 3 months ago (May 15) so I;m expecting approval from CIC Mississauga very soon.

Me and my wife got engaged over telephone in December 2010 and we are cousins first. And then in December 2011 I finished my first semester at university and went to Pakistan on my 20 days vacation for our Marriage ceremony (Nikah only) but it was a proper marriage ceremony. After our Nikah I stayed with my wife in her house for a week and left for Canada as my new semester was going to begin in January 2012. The reason why we didn't do rukhsati is that my all family memebers are in Canada and we don't have our own place to live in Pakistan. So doing rukhsati and leaving my wife back home didn't make sense to us. Therefore, we decided to have rukhsati done as soon as she gets her PR InshaAllah.
Along with my application, I sent all of my phone bills since our engagment and for the time after our marriage untill the time I sent my application (i.e for 3 months), and some chat logs during the time we were engaged and after our marriage ( chat logs clearly shows the dates and times we were chatting on). I also included couple of money transfer receipts with the application. And 20 printed photgraphs from Nikah according to the guideline and also included some pictures that we took after our marriage at her home and when we went to some guests and went to some places like restaurant etc.
On the application forms me and my wife tried to be honest with CIC with some questions related to our relationship. There were questions like If my wife lived with me? or if we had a Honeymoon, she answered NO with the reason that my vacations were almost over and I had to go back to resume my studies and work.
It's been almost 8 months to our marriage, and we are maintaing our contact to each other almost every day and keeping records of them. And i'm also planning to visit her in 2013 summers and plan our honeymoon.

Does our relationship seems to be genuine? And is it a good idea to update CHC Islamabad with ongoing contact with my wife? and send them more pictures If insha Allah I visit her next year? or should I wait for their request to send more proofs?

Thank you

Hi, Thanks everyone.. yes it was fast.. maybe I can share my situation that might help others..

My case was straight forward. We have 2 Canadian citizen kids. I went to embassy recently to sign an authorization to sign a form (father's consent) to issue Canadian passport to my younger son in Canada. I utilized this visit to embassy and it worked. I requested a visa officer to meet me. She was kind enough (although I had to wait for more than 2 hours). I told her that I haven't seen my younger son and requested my case should be processed fast as its a simple case.. Plus i applied after 3 years of marriage... She said she will have a look. although she seemed not serious about it. but she was.

Another thing.. I work at a multinational company here in Islamabad which has branches in Canada too.. I told her I can easily be relocated to Canada through my company. I also showed her my email correspondence with another company in Canada. I applied for a job online and they were keen to hire me.. they even did an initial telephonic interview.. but were not willing to issue a work permit and said clearly in email that "we will be willing to offer you a job once you are here and have authorization to work, provided we have a suitable opportunity at that time". So i printed that email and showed them.

My experience says.. you need to do some extra hard work to satisfy the officer on 2 things. (genuine marriage and ability to pay them taxes by working high end jobs). Like my effort to get a job helped me. Once they are sure its a genuine marriage and if they are satisfied that we are able to get a job there and pay them taxes.. they are more than happy to give us visa. That's why Indians get visa quickly. I think its not about workload or anything. Some Pakistanis have done such things in past that they don't trust us easily.

Anyway. I wish you all best of luck. I was already starting to get frustrated and was about to abandon my case by calling my wife and kids back to Pakistan. because I felt I wont be able to wait for so long (26 to 30 months) because I miss my son alot and haven't even seen my 2nd son. But thank God .. its such a relief. Thanks to the visa officer who listened to me... :)
Dear bro amazingly I have same situation as you have :).I was married in October,2009 almost 03 years ago, working in a very good multinational in Islamabad from last 06 years and applied for canadian passport of my child.I will also visit CHC Islamabad to sign form of father's consent.I just wana ask how you availed the oppertunity to meet VO.How you approched her at CHC Islamabad,is it easy to meet visa officer???

Please help me out I will be very thankful to you.

it should be fair for everyone.. bechare 2010 interview cases ka kia kasor..
:(

i m sorry i dont believe this case is genuine. a lot of ppl on dis forum have said time and again tht they tried to get in touch with visa officer at the high commision (being canadian) but were not entertained. then how is it tht this gentlemen who claims to ask for a visa officer was entertained.

ppl who have letter from byram avari r not considered then how is it tht da visa officer was all availabe at this specific time. i m sorry i do not buy dis story

I suggest you get your rukhsati done before they review your file in Islamabad. Remember to mail Islamabad all the proof that the rukhsati did take place. Without rukhsati they will put you in the waitinh queue- and you dont want that to happen do you?

To forum gang,

Any idea of what protocol to follow to notify CHC of home telephone change? (Applicant)

Is it a simple email? or fax?

Thanks.

As a precaution you should do both. I have even heard of people sending a letter.

Hi All,I trust this post receives you all in good health. I've been reading the posts for a few months now. It's great to see how everyone helps each other out and in a way this forum gives a lot of emotional support. Even though reading some of these long timelines can discourages me, It's nice to know that I'm not the only one going thru this.
So I guess I should share my timeline.
I'm a Canadian Citizen and got married to a girl in Pakistan on December 17 2011. She has a daugther by the way, which I adore like crazy. I did bring my mother and brother to Karachi as well for the wedding. We only stayed in Karachi for 2 days then my wife, mother, brother and I went to Dubai for 2 weeks. Where my mother nad brother stayed with us for the 1st week. Unfortunately, we could not bring our duagther with us, as she could not leave Pakistan.

We filed for spousal sponsorship on March 21, 2012 (included proof of Nikkah, pictures, e-mails, phone logs, etc).
File was received March 23rd. (CHC M)

It was getting quite difficult not being able to see my wife and daugther, so we decided to for a month long vacation (July 2012) to Dubai. And this time I was able to bring our daugther.
While in Dubai we received the sponsorship approval (July 4th) and file was also transfered to Islamabad at that time.
I guess that's it for now. Looking forward to reading posts and joining you all in the wait for our loved ones.
