Thanks sidnoby.what abt question about if there wasformal marriage ceremony and was there reception.r they not same thing,i am confused ?if anyone has a answe pls.tahnks

I did the same thing as you, had the nikah and left the next day.

If it was nikah-only then there was only a formal marriage ceremony (you did have a gathering to celebrate the nikah, right?)
I believe there is something on there with regards to rukhsati, so you would explain your plans for that and why you haven't done it yet.
Reception would be the walimah, which you did not have; so, no there was no reception.

hi everyone.i m filing the forms and i just have question.
i did nikah ceremony and came back to canada nxt day.what i should answer about, have you and ur sponsor lived together?
thanks
.. Nikah is shadi in Islam... but if you guys did not lived together than i guess you can't really lie about it and also if you dont have any pics of your after shadi trips..

even now, i know about at least 4 girls here in my town who went to pak, only did their nikah, but they made it seem like their baraat event (ruksati.. took pics of them and their husbands leaving the hotel in car.. just like a pakistani ruksati.. and from there they both did not live together.. the ruksati was done only for the pics and the video.. and the valima was done too.. it was a party for the guys and their family.. and they made it seem like their valima.. and again they did not live together or had any kind of physical relationship.

and for honey moon and after shaadi trips, they just went out with their families.. but just took pics alone to pretend that they were visiting those places alone as honey moon trips..

this has been happening for years now.. 3 other sisters i used to know sponsored their husbands like this and they received their visas with no problem.. :o

No i think it was just a false alarm.

That's pretty smart yet deceptive. If CHC catches wind of this practice, who knows what they might ask for proof of geninuity. It's always the few who ruin things for everyone else - that's one of the reasons we're in this 26+ month situation for ISB.

Hey Khalifah
Congrats again!!!
Just wondering, in your tips section you listed, "Email CHC once a month"
Is this just an email asking for the update of your case?

Thanks bro

I found this as previous post from the 2011-2012 timeline and thought it would be good to share with everyone here who are currently in the process of sponsoring their spouse. InshAllah if we all appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will be able to have some positive impact, as was the case in UK:

Hello everyone,

Spousal Immigration seems to be the toughest task on the planet[for pakistanis only ]

I dont know how people around here got soooo much "patience" to wait for 9 months, 16 months, 21 months, 23 months and 24 months, not finally, because it is expected to exceed to 28 months, 32 months...38 months.......the sequence of increasing months in your choice....

People applied in 2011, should raise their voice against this unfair prolong time....so I am appealing everyone on this forum to write to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to divert attention of our officials to this unjust.....

You can write anonymously. And I think Fax is the better option to deliver the letter. Here is the Fax number of our beloved Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar:

051-9210335

You can also send by post on this address:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Foreign Office Building (near Serena Hotel),
Constitution Avenue,
G-5, Islamabad.

It would be better, if the letter is written directly to the Foreign Minister.

Guys, if you remember, last year UK visa applications were gathered in bulk, and thousands of applicants were waiting due to slow, and inefficiency of the visa office. People wrote to Foreign Ministry of Pakistan and they took an action to resolve the issue.

I think we all spousal visa victims ......should at least bring into the notice of Foreign Minister...that the spousal visas are taking too much time and it is against human rights....hope it will make some difference...

InshAllah

I appeal to all those senior members of this forum, who got the visa, or about to get a visa to acknowledge my appeal voluntarily...
I will be thankful...

congrats khalifah5! looks like you got the whole application process nailed down to a T! solid tips! so it took cic islamabad nine months to contact you. sweet. two months have elapsed since my file got transferred so i got seven left?? hope so :D

I filled on my own, just followed the guide. Was quite simple really....

did it myself..not a big deal unless you have a shady past... :D

a better practice would be for CIC to grant conditional permanent resident to spouses. this way if the spouse does any hera-pheri within the two year conditional time period then she/he lose their PR status and get sent back home. this will balance nicely with the recently introduced 5 year bar on the sponsor. this way innocent, well meaning couples will not suffer!
