You can apply for the visit visa at any time, it's not guaranteed that you will get one though. Ask folks in the 09-10 and 10-11 threads, they will have more info.

So I'm a newbie at all of this because I just submitted my husband's application to CIC-mississauga this last week. From what I have read, is it true that CHC Islamabad has speeded up the process for spouse sponsorship to about 12 months starting from when Mississauga receives your application? InshAllah we will all be reunited with our spouses soon!!

InshAllah. I don't think its 12 months just yet. The count of months actually starts when file is transferred to ISB. According to cic its 26 months at the moment (wrost case). However, spouse usually get there within 15-22 months (average case). Some earlier, some later. Hope for the best InshAllah.

Brother How will I know my File Transfer date? Will Canadian High Commission Islamabad update my ecas status as soon as they get the file?
I can check my status online now under Permanent Resident Application when I click it it states Medical results have been received.
