I don't know about this but it is been 90 days since they updated their timeline last time on May 14, 2012. Hopefully they must be working on March Files bcoz they have had two weeks of gaps in this period of time and now they should be done with Feb Files so far that's what I think!

I applied for my wife's sponsorship .. application received in Mississauga on 14th Feb and today I received letter dated May 28th, 2012 that my first step has been approved and file transferred to Islamabad.

Mississauga step 1 [process took 3.5 months.s

I guess 26 months count down start now :-/

Guys I got the following from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (see below)
They are just confirming that they received an application on Feb27th, but they have not said anything about approval.
When should I be expecting the approval and "application has been sent to Islamabad" email?

Hey all,

Put me down on the timeline. Gave all documents to my lawyer about 2 weeks ago, he should have sent things out by now, so I'm guessing transfer to Ismellbad round about August.
Oh and it's a wife case.

Toodles

It's a wife case ... I guess it will take at least 2 years since ISB processing time is 26 months.

I have a question for the senior members, if and when you send supporting documents voluntarily. Is CHC Islamabad suppose to update the ecase? And who do they send a letter out to? I used a lawyer to file the documents. When I got the approval for my file being approved in Mississauga, CHC sent a letter to my lawyer but nothing was sent to my wife. Is this normal?

Any help would be appreciated :)

They don't updated the e-case when you send supporting documents voluntraily. As your case was filed by a lawyer, which means he represents you and your spouse; this is why he got a letter.

Your wife might not get anything in the mail till her initial review is done and they require more info or additonal docs etc etc.

Thanks, so they never say anything about the voluntary information? I know from UPS that they got it, but I don’t know if they even applied it to my file or just put it away! I saw in some cases that they ask for this information again, even though a person has already sent it to them.

Most of the time, it is attached to the file unless the proof is over 2-3 kg and can't go in the file. Thats how it gets misplaced. Also if you wrote down all the information; file number, name, date of birth, spouse name, UCI numbe etc etc then there are more chances are that the document will be added to the file.

Thanks again for your response; I really hope they don't misplace it, I had spent hours making that file as well. But you have given me comfort knowing that since my information is on it, it might not get lost.
Thanks
