HI ibi,

have you received any letters/emails from CIC approving you as a sponsor i.e. Step 1 completion? Also have you tried logging in E-cas what does it say?

Yes all letters were sent to my lawyer, step 1 was approved 5/6 weeks back. website says we've recieved your spouses application for PR. - this is when i called them asking for status, they said it was sent to ottawa for processing, and here is where the lady explained the long waiting times hence the reason it was sent to Ottawa instead of ISB.

I am curious what the "criteria" is for sending files to Ottawa for Step 2. My guess is random files.

Just received my sponsorship approval via email. File is transferred to ISB.

yes lawyer also confirmed it was sent to ottawa as processing in ISB is backlogged.

I got an email from: Citizenship and Immigration Canada - CPCM which included a PDF letter stating my approval and transfer to the designated regional office for the applicant, which in this case is ISB.

You wouldnt have a copy of that confirmation, would you? If you did, could you post it on the forum - of ocourse with all the personal details blanked- that would settle the debate once and for all.

I was wondering that since its been quite a few days since you got your letter, now when you login to E-cas (with F#and sponsored person details) does it say file transferred to ISL?

Did you get your wife's UCI? I got an email with "my" UCI and an F number? Is that what you got as well?

Ok, so they have made some lil tweaks in the process i think. I didnt get a PDF. Its a simple plain HTML email with UCI and Application Number (F00000XXXX) with a whole lot of crap that the file is transferred to ISL and that I have to now apply for CSQ since I am in QC and other useless stuff. But in the very end it shows where it came from : (quoting from my email)

Please find below my pointwise reply;

1) I got emails on 4th July from CPC with PDF letter that my file has been transfered to Islamabad.I have the same status as you;only shows file recieved on 28th May,2012 and medical has been recieved.

2)I have file number in letter but my UCI is same as my sponsor (wife) already has.

3)Yup;I have logged in through file number,as UCI is same and it shows my wife PR card status.So when I logged in through file number I got my own status.E case status normally updated a week later when you get approval letter.

4) My wife talked to call center and representative told that if you read approval letter carefully it is written like that "application for PR of ur relative has been forwarded to CHC Islamabad for further process"He further told that when you get approval letter its mean ur file has already been transfered to respective CHC Office.

Now please tell me how you know that ur file is sent to Ottawa pilot project????

Well from what i have read on forums, May cases were sent to Ottawa and they are being processed in reverse order. Prolly your pdf might have been generated by Ottawa and forwarded to CPC-M who then fwded it to you.

Well from what i have read on forums, May cases were sent to Ottawa and they are being processed in reverse order. Prolly your pdf might have been generated by Ottawa and forwarded to CPC-M who then fwded it to you.

Honestly, it's all just speculation... let's just wait and see what the forum members report back in the next few months for both OTT and ISB cases.

One thing does seem clear that they are trying to clear the backlog and process files faster.

I remember I got my file transfered to ISB in May of 2012. At that time I did get a email reply from Ottawa pilot. However, they stated im eligable to sponser and that my file is has been transfered to ISB. To be more specfic, I copy paste the info underneath:.....

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing". (visa office aboard is underneath)

Unless you guys didn't get this written in your email/letter, then i beleive you can say they are changing their rules and sending to ottawa. Im still not too sure about this Ottawa thing.
