@Khalifah I will order gcms notes today to see what comments VO has entered. Its strange i ordered them couple of months ago and nothing had started then. Things can change pretty quickly.

Congrats, I have the same time line, I sponsored my wife in june 13 2012 and got re assessment from delhi on july 15 2013. so we have almost the same time line. please share your updates in future.

I am from Pakistan and doing Nikah with Canadian citizen, I am wondering does it effect for PR application whether your are getting married or only doing Nikah, how it will effect on your immigration file?

how do u know that they only inquire for applicant who applied for north american visa,,,will it delay case,,coz i stayed in USA for 3 years

There was an operation bulletin by CIC explaining that CPP-Ottawa is taking on more responsibilities like pre-screening. And in some cases they process the case 100% and just send the instructions to applicant's visa office to print the visa.

If you have stayed in USA then it means you were granted the visa and entry to USA. CPP-Ottawa is only interested in knowing that if an applicant was ever refused an entry in USA or Canada and the reason why it was refused.

What if applicant had applied for student visa few years ago but got refusal???

That is precisely what CPP-O does now a days. They will definitely look into it as to why you were refused. Fortunately, most students get refused for minor issues like not enough financial support or not providing enough documents to support the case. Which in my opinion should not be considered for spousal sponsorship case.

I don't think CIC considers only Nikah as marriage anymore. This is why there are questions in sponsorship forms about co-habitation period which in our religion that is Islam, starts after rukhsati. I may be wrong but CIC has learned it and trying to close this loophole because they think it is providing opportunities for fraudulent cases.

Cic does accept nikkah cases still. However, it may take a bit longer than whole wedding (though i have seen some get accept faster). Friend of mine was a nikkah case and his wife got visa in 20mths. End of day its your destiny from Allah

Hi, I have one more question. In my GCMS notes its also written Family Size: 2 whereas we are 4 four.
Me(sponsor) my husband (sponsored person) and our two sons (canadian born).
So shouldnt it be family size:4 ?
Plz advice

Today i recieved additional backround check forms. for my wife and some Backround forms for me as well. These are for afghan nationals. i already have paid the landing fee and they have my wife's passport as well. My question, to you guys are is there anything else after this that they would ask, before they send my wifes passport back with stamped visa.

I submitted my wife application on April 20, 2013. I got email from CIC on May 17, 2013 that my file transferred to Islamabad visa office. On July 29, 2013 I sent email to Pilot Ottawa and asked if my file really transferred to Islamabad on May 17, 2013, the response I got today is that my file still not transferred to Islamabad. They said its still in process in CPP-Ottawa.

I dont understand why CIC misleading us.

Same thing happened to my case
