People get married to foreigners in all countries of the world. Perhaps you have not been around the world or have not seen anything yourself.

There is no reason why a Canadian sponsor would get blacklisted, unless they're involved in many frauds or violations of immigration rules. CIC cant just blacklist anyone without concrete evidence.

There are students here from many countries who end up getting married, it doesn't matter what their status is in Canada. Yes it can be tough on the applicant to prove that they're genuine in relationship but it does not equal fraud. Fraud is when applicant's only purpose for marriage is to obtain PR status and then ditch the sponsor, end the marriage, flee, etc.

On a side note, obtaining a study visa is very costly process. It's better to wait out the process, and/or spend the money on tourism in much friendlier visa countries. Plus the weather is much nicer, it's been extreme cold/winter in Canada lately.

+1 .. i don't know why would someone consider it as fraud. IF someone can afford to come down on student visa they should .. and then get married

Walaikumaslam Nick_afg,

Well I'm back in Canada since Mar 20 and have been going through a rough time cannot find cheap daycare if I work I'm only paying for daycare. Also was sick with a cough and cold just getting over that.

And no news at all and I'm actually thinking of going back to Pakistan my daughter is 19 months old and having a rough time without her dad.

Immigration is ruining all of our lives.

In Sha Allah Allash swt makes this process and wait easier for all of us. Still going through posts any good news for you bro.

ASyed :-\

I am not sure but I think those files who are very close to complete 32 MONTHS are still in Islamabad. I am assuming this only because my file was received by CHC Islamabad on August 04, 2011 and it is still just getting dust in Islamabad. NO BODY HAS TOUCHED OUR FILE AFTER RE-MEDICAL IN JUNE 2013.

It would b considered fraud if u come to Canada on a student visa with the sole intention of marrying someone in Canada.... if ure studying in Canada on a student visa already n then decide to marry a Canadian... that's a different story.... i'm sure the CIC has seen an increase in student visa applications with ppl who have that intent of marrying someone.... this will only lead to long waiting periods for student visas... n will only hurt ppl that genuinely want to study in Canada n not take advantage of student visa to bypass spousal sponsorship waiting periods

Leaving real fraud aside, it is obvious that many people from around the world want to settle in Canada. CIC knows that.
Study/work visas are just another step to get your foot in the door.
This type of fraud/trend is not the cause of the 32-month processing time at CHC-Islamabad.

Does anyone from April 2012 file have any good news, mines not even Initial review yet :(

Its probably not the only cause but I'm sure it doesn't help the situation.... u seem like u might know the inside story.... wut do u believe is the number 1 cause?

I have also applied in april 2012, my husband has not even gotten his remedical request yet. He only got a request for PCC and proof of ongoing relationship in nov 2013. Has anyone from april 2012 received re medical?
