Alhamdulillah, my hubby had his TRV approved so he can come and visit while we wait for his pr to complete. I say definitely take your chances and apply for a TRV. It's the best 75$ we ever spent!

This is good news to have TRV, at least he can visit and spend time with you in Canada.

Can you tell if they issued a multiple entry visa or single-entry? And for how long is it valid ??

How long did it take for the whole process of TRV in general ?

You need a letter of invitation. Guidelines are here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.asp

You take your chances and apply. $75 dollar charge and in my case I had doctor's notes since I was expecting. Also, your husband/wife has to show that he or she has a steady job or is doing studies in PK for which they will be returning back. Also, if there is any property in their name, that needs to be shown too, since those are strong grounds proving that husband/wife will come back. Also mention that you have applied for spouse sponsorship but will ensure that husband/wife returns by the due date provided on the TRV and that you understand that the rules are to be followed at all costs.

It was single entry and valid for 6 months because that is what we asked for. It took 46 days for the process to be completed and for those 46 days, the passport was sent to CHC Islamabad. My husband applied through the VAC centre in Karachi on Razi Road. Now you also have to go through biometrics which they do on the spot for you when you come in with a complete application. They also give you a checklist of things you should have, I did not see anything like that checklist on the website of CIC, so your best bet is to actually go there and get that checklist and make sure you have everything it says you should have. Once all done, submit it to them, they give you a tracking number within a day or 2 by sms or email...although the tracking number isn't of much use, it's just proof that you have submitted your TRV application. They also give you a receipt that you should keep for your records. When your passport comes back, they email you that your passport is back (it's sealed so even the VAC office guys don't know what the answer is until you actually go there yourself and open it up and see). Best of luck if you're thinking of applying!

Thanks for the quick response.

You really scared us. I/we were expecting good news before expiry of re-medical even it is getting so delayed day by day.

Have they asked you some special documents since you applied in 2010?
Please share events after submission of application in 2010.

My application is simple case. my spouse does not have any history of travel.
Also she is educated and her documents and ID can be verified from NADRA and universities.
She lived in one city from birth to today.

My record is also clean and I am Canadian Citizen and tax payer.
