I have a question about the last one that I was hoping someone else would have experience with in the other thread.

I was wondering if anyone had run into a similar situation with a visa office. I applied in September 2011 to sponsor my wife here from Pakistan. She received a letter 2 weeks ago stating that her visa was ready and that they needed her passport. The letter also stated that she should make sure that her passport is valid for 12 months, but that the visa would only be valid until:

a) Her passport expired
b) 12 months after her last immigration medical.

Her passport expires March 2014. It will be difficult for her to renew it due to delays at the Pakistani passport office. Her immigration medical expires August 9th. If they do not receive her passport by July 20th, they will close her file.

Does anyone have experience or advice about what to do in such a situation?

as you need 6 months valid passport for the visa to be issueed send them this passport


another thing for all memmbers please make sure you renew your passports if they are expiring passport office renews it if even 9-10 months are left so donnot wait as its taking 1 1/2 to 2 months for urgent passport todilver

When does the medical expire ?

August 9th 2013. We are getting another done this week and sending the passport and photos right afterwards.

This sounds like great news, but then why don't they say this clearly? The letter says "Check to make sure that everyone in your family has a passport valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the last immigration medical. Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months from the date of medical examination . . . However, if any passports expire before 12 months from the date of the medical examination your visas will expire on the date that the first passport expires. . . "

Why do specify 12 months for the passport validity? And what exactly happens when the visa expires if she is already in Canada?

Hello Everyone,

My parents got one letter from the cousulate and in the letter it is mentioned like:

1. Please properly and truthfully complete the Supplementary Information forms.
Please download the requested form from the following website links:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E33020.PDF


After clicking on the link above we find a form with 25 pages. My query is that should I only fill the Supplimentary Information part (from page 13 - Page 17) in this form or Should I have to fill all pages of the form available on the above link?

Seniors and experineced fellows please respond or share your experience for this subject as I am really looking to understand what I have to do.

if she is planning to land after march then its a iisue otherwise relex and get her in passsport from canada m( much easier then getting it from here)

If I am not wrong, you can't sponsor parents anymore unless application was submitted before Fall 2011. As of now he can follow the guidelines to super visa once he gets here and obtains his PR. As per the news release below though looks like he might be able to sponsor her next year.
