Hey ppl,

Is it a good idea to apply for a visitor visa for the spouse if the spousal sponsorship was filed about 3 months ago?

Thoughts please?

If you would like to make a change of address on your application, or for our office to re-send mail that you have failed to receive, you must submit your address with an original signature. They cannot accept this new contact information by email; this is to ensure the security of your documents and personal information.

Please send them a signed fax or a signed letter with the following information:
your original request to change your mailing address,
the full name of applicant and original signature,
the applicant's date of birth,
the file number [letter followed by a nine-digit number],
telephone number, including area code,
fax number, including area code,
the mailing address, and
a return fax number and/or e-mail address (if available)
Please do not send any new address information by email. As they required your signature on this information, kindly note that your current mailing address stands unchanged and this email has been deleted.
Note that address changes for applications at visa offices may not be made using the online service on the CIC web site's E-Client Application Status (E-Cas) and that the change of address resulting from the future reception at this office of the information noted above will not be reflected on E-Cas. Change of address notifications for applications at visa offices must always be submitted directly to the visa office processing the application

Sis I hope this will be helpful for you.

This is a commonly asked question with no concrete answer. However, from previous posters on the forum, they indicate that it does NOT impact the immigration application hence, I would suggest you apply for it. Considering, it's only been 3 months since you applied, you still have a while before your file will be reviewed by CHC. The only caveat is that you have to provide full proof that the applicant for the visit visa will return back to their country once the visa duration is over.

Search on the forum on how other users who got the visa applied for it. They provided a lot of proof including employment letters proving they can support the applicant for the duration of the visit.

Hope that helps.

you can apply for a visit visa, but scrutiny on the visitor visa will be tough because of your spouse's ties to Canada (ie. you). A visitor visa is for those who want to visit Canada, and then leave Canada once the visa is finished, or earlier. When assessing your file, they will see that the person has a spouse in Canada, so that is a very big tie to Canada, and hints towards the idea that the applicant will NOT leave Canada once the visa is finish. Thus, to counter that, the person will need to have very strong ties to Pakistan to show that she won't be overstaying her visit. Strong family ties to Pakistan would not count as much, since the spouse is one of the biggest ties and that person is in Canada, so you would need ties such as studies (tuition paid for the upcoming semester), job (letter from employer showing that you have vacation for x number of weeks), rent lease, financial situation in Pakistan, etc.

Take that all into account, and address that in your application. I don't think the success of getting it will be very high though, but i don't think it would hurt your sponsorship application. if it gets refused, you can use that as proof of ongoing relationship because you want to be with your spouse. :P
