No one knows...could be anything.

It does make a difference. Only if you have been in Canada for a couple months and you sponsor your spouse then the process time is quicker. This is because you are still a part of immigration and when you sponsor your spouse it's quicker, My lawyer said for most cases like that it takes less than 9 months. However, if you are a permanent resident and have been living in Canada more than 1 year, it doesn't make a difference.

i dont think its true that if ur citizen ur case can be done quicker,,they dont care that ur citizen or PR ,,its all depend on VO if he like to done it quick he/she can other wise nothing can make quick them,,

and vo come know that u r sponsoring by a citizen when already 12 months has passed as they open our files after one year or more

I got a call from my MP's office.

Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:

- The approximate timeline for Pakistani applications in Ottawa is 18 months (Stage 2).
- First review will be done around the 15 month mark.
- All correspondence has to be conducted with Ottawa and not Islamabad.

That's for my application: Submitted - Nov '11. Stage 2 started - Jan '12.

Be patient. And why blame just Canada? Has anyone ever thought about the folks who run the show in Pakistan? And Afghanistan is not even in a position to have its own CHC!

Be patient. Thank God for what you have(if you have faith in Him). And He will reward you.

I didn't know about this until recently but new residents are not covered under ontario health for the first 3 months, so you have to get coverage through a private insurance provider
