Okay I have an update on my case now. My wife did her re-med in Islamabad on Sep 10 and sent passport on Sep 14. Well Canada Visa Office called her today and told her that why she didnt do her xray because her passport was ready to get stamped and sent back to her. She told them that the IOM people in Islamabad knew she was pregnant and did not perform the xray on her. Canada Visa office replied saying either you have to do it now or then after the baby is born do it and also have to get passports for baby, etc.

My question is that from what I have heard is they do chest xrays only. And also from my knowledge chest xray has no affect due to low radiation especially after the first term of pregnancy when the baby has developed. Is pakistan's xrays the same or now. Should my wife go back to Islamabad and do the xray? They said they will call her back tomorrow to find out her response on whether or not she will be doing the xray. My wife is expected to deliver on Feb 14, 2013.

But when she originally went to IOM for her remedical she told them she is pregnant. They said do you want to do the xray and my wife said well its up to you guys. The IOM staff discussed it I think with themselves and did not perform it on her. But my point is in Canada I have heard many women do xrays (head, chest while pregnant). And on the internet I have checked and also states it safe because its low radiation.

i have no idea about canada and i didnt check on internet as well.. but in USA they didnt done my xray and it was chest xray and it was very important to do but they waited till my son born. ask some one who is in medical field

i got my PPR on 19 sep, 2012. and i also submitted additional proofs in july , 2012(which they requested)

Congratz, its very good news you got it n can you tell me plz that is it yor husband or wife case? it means the CHC started the PPR now lets pray all together to get it soon inshallah

For the forum members who received their medical + ppr in month of July n now waiting for visa so pls don't worry coz before it use to take 1 to 1 n half month .... But since feb I have notice after medical for most of the members its taking 3 to 4 months ..... So inshallah in oct we will b done

Well I just asked my cousin who lives in my neighborhood and is pregnant about chest xray. She had an appointment today and asked the doctor and the doctor said its fine since its past the first term of pregnancy and also to tell my wife to make sure they cover her stomach so that it can limit radition in that area just to be safer. Now my next problem is going to be whether IOM Islamabad will need her passport again (since the passport is with Canada Visa). Spousal Sponsorship is a PAIN in the ASS!

I must say on safe side it's not good to do X-Ray lyk that .... If it's me I wouldn't have done lyk that just to come early n take a risk for whole life.

I fill for GCMS and send all the forms and consent, but they send me email and ask for the below information.... Since my parnter under 18 years, they are asking me to send her parent consent.. so which form should complete...... Greatly apperciate any help in this matter ....

BTW I am adpating not sponsoring lol. I am twice her age .. parent choice and can't do anything..lol

call the IOM call centre and tell them that your wife will not be having the passport with her and to tell their security to let her in. IOM will send an email to their front gate staff instructing them to let her enter without passport. I went through a very similar situation last week and wasted an hour at the gate. It was very frustrating but the call centre was helpful. Also discuss the same with CHC when they call you, maybe ask them to give IOM direct instructions to let you in without passport. Take 2 copies of the passport and the print out of the TCS tracking which says that you've sent your passport and it's been delivered to CHC. All this was at IOM Karachi so maybe Islamabad would be better.

With that said. Getting an xray may be a bit risky as we already receive a lot of radiation from cell phones etc. And if your wife travels she'll have to go through security devices.. All this radiation can add up. But I pray no one's health is affected Inshallah.
