My wife got her Visa in mail today. The entire process took almost 17 months, I originally applied in Canada in May 2011. No interview, no additional information requested, no documents translated by anyone else, I did my own translation.

The two things that I did a bit differently was that I had my nikah form (original) filled out in english, which is perfectly legal in Pakistan. I visited my wife after almost a year, and took allot of pictures with the extended family, and in each picture, I explained who each person is, and how they are related to me or my wife.

do u think its a positive sign that its with the decision making officer?.. its after the background checks right... should i keep my hope high.. or its just a regular reply they send everyone ?..

My file was also transferred in june 2011. I hadn't received any letters from chc untill 2 days ago. They requested for supp forms only.

Is yours a husband case aswell? how do you know that they haven't started the initial review?

Since your timeline is almost same as mine don't worry, you will probably get something soon.

That's really helpful. Thanks! I have one question. My Pk driving license carries my maiden name, I changed my name after marriage. Would this license be acceptable for getting a G2?

i am sure there wont be any problem but i think you should tell your husband to check it from service ontario or exam centre
so if you need something you could bring it with you

My Mp also told me to wait for 3 weeks.

I Don't understand take them 3 weeks to write email.
Here in Canada productive efficiency are so slow, Slowest Country.

seriously if thay star giving one good news to one person everyday im sure everyone in this forum will get their visas
in a month if not less

i mean really how hard is it to move one file to the next step in one day

i think one should try to get a job at CHC-I

the plus points are that you'll be close to your spouse and family
you'll have a great job like canada
and the best part is that you wont have to do anything for months and no body will ask you anything
seriously if your bosses are not working in canada why would you work in islamabad

just sip coffee all day and still sleep at your desk

that's how the government of Pakistan works. I have heard that government workers show up hours late and then sip some tea and go out with friends but yet still get paid full salary!

I hope my wife hears soon about PPR.
