Hi All,

Quick question - is it normal to get Decision Made status on ecas BEFORE getting PPR?? I'm confused because after having read this forum it seems that first they send PPR and afterwards Decision Made?

I haven't seen it happen to any other member so far. The online status is not very reliable so I wouldn't read too much into it. However, my initial reaction would be: "Dear God, i think my application has been rejected!" :) because PPR is the final stage of the application process. I would understand if CHC wants to skip the re-medical step, but i don't think there is a possibility to skip the PPR stage...

Yes it is quite strange - re-medical was done more than 2 months ago...and now it shows Decision Made - but still waiting for PPR.

We will pray for you, but you should also prepare yourself for the worst. CHC doesn't listen to our cries for expedited service. They will send you the passport when they are required to do so.

I do hope that things work for you at the end.

Pls pray for me its been 6 weeks since I submitted the passport

Q- What if I see Decision Made on my applicant spouse's ECAS before he/she was requested for Passport (PPR) ?
If this happens for your PR application ECAS (NOT Sponsorship eligibility application status on ECAS) usually at the end of your case processing of your file over a year after being transferred to Islamabad then sorry to say but that could mean that your application was refused

did ur status changed to medical results received or any update?

Quick Question for Forum Gang

Any idea how long they take to do intial background check (wife)?.

My wife has applied for my permanent resident visa under Spousal Sponsor Category in Oct'11 and in Jan'12 received an acknowledgement letter of application from Mississauga Office. Last week I have received an acknowledgement letter from CHC Islamabad in which they have asked me to fill out the residency questionnaire along with some other questions/ information which should be replied back to them within 30 days from the date of the letter. My wife is currently in Pakistan to visit me and will fly back to Canada on Oct 7, 2012. We contacted the consultant regarding the above-mentioned letter and queries that have been asked by CHC Islamabad and my consultant suggested that we should reply once my wife returns back to Canada and the consultant will get us more time from CHC Islamabad to reply to the letter. Is it possible to get extra time to reply to the letter?

Yes it did... it got updated with "Medical results have been received". And now "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision." But no PPR so far...

Sure an extension can be requested from CHC, but I am trying to think of the reasons as to why the consultant would ask you to hold off from submitting your documents now? I would send the documents as soon as possible. I'm not aware of your case history so I have made a few assumptions here. Have you asked the consultant why extra time is desired in your scenario?
