According to Citizenship Act which was amended in 2009. If a baby is born outside Canada and one or both parents Canadian Citizen by birth or Naturalized(Landed Immigrant), then the baby is automatically Canadian Citizen. All that needs to be done is that the Canadian Citizen (in your case its the mother) needs to fill out a form where she will proof her citizenship and then the baby will become a Canadian Citizen....look into it....its your wife's right...its your baby's right...

My wife is neither naturalized nor canadian by birth, she got her citizen by descent and has never lived in canada (she has lived in US instead). If we had a baby in pakistan would the baby get citizenship in that case??

If she is considered a citizen, doesn't matter how she became one then the child will also be a citizen

You must have signed 'use of a representative' form with the option of receiving all the correspondence to you in Canada rather than your wife in Pakistan. If you want the requests to go to her in Pakistan you will have to send the 'use of a representative' form again with you as her representative but don't check or fill out your information for receiving correspondence in Canada.

got it...but first I have to withdraw my representative right...and then appoint him again without the mailing address...

Not necessarily! You can fill out just one updated form and write a detailed cover letter explaining the whole thing.

According to what we have seen they are still working of Sept/Oct 2010 files so you still have a few more months of waiting before you hear something from them, may be closer to Feb/Mar 2012 ....

Great! :D InshAllah, my wife and I are looking forward soon. My case is about wife, it shouldn't be too long. Do you think Christmas break will delay the cases in slow process nahein?
