on a side note, did anybody try to find out why it takes longer to process the spousal case in Pakistan than other countries?

true but they should have a reasonable explanation, they can't just get away with this non-sense discrimination. we should demand an explanation. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

i applied in Nov 2011 and got the confirmation in Jan 2012 that they have received the application (with nikkah pics, communication record etc) in ISB. NO COMMUNICATION FROM CIC SINCE THEN WHATSOEVER!


I went to Pakistan earlier this year for Rukhsati. I have more pics, cards, western union receipts etc since I applied but I did not send them to ISB as I was waiting for them to request it. I was recently told in this forum to send them anyways and don't wait for their call.

Now that there is a strike in action, should I send the further proof or wait till it's over? OR JUST WAIT FOR THE REMED REQ?

Thanks to our senior members over here. From them I came to know that CHC Islamabad never went for strike. After Eid and 14 August holidays they are back to their offices.
Yes of course you should immediately send them all the proofs of relationship with a covering letter.

just send all kind of proofs with a cover letter
may n there is a strike
but many people are hearing back from them it means they are working
It is strongly recommened to send ur proofs specailly the following
1.cover letter that explain ur visit details to pak
2..rukhsati pics
3.honey moon pics
4.pics with different relatives
5.gifts that u both exchanged or any gifts u bought from canada take their pics and send them
6.any greeting cards
7.phone bills/emails/skype chat/ or any other communication
8.ur passport copy highlighting entering and exit stamp
9.ur ticket copy
10.most important (western union slips)

I think that makes a full package of proofs
and all these things are enough to proof ur relationship

Anyhow, I am sad and frustrated because today my file is celebrating 2 Years 2 Weeks and 2 Days in CHC Islamabad.

For us Pakistanis! it is not a big deal because there is No Time Guarantee. They kept on increasing our time. Just for your information; you was given 24 Months but now for all of us it is 31 MONTHS. From where and when it starts. . . .I'm not very sure but according to my poor information 31M starts from the day CHC Isl received your file :'(.

Salam all, I hope everyone is well and fine. For the new ones here May Allah you and all of us here.
It doesn't matter when you send your application but it matters when CIC Islamabad changes the processing time as we all fall into that. Our case is over that so I send a request every so often. We are going into 3yrs next month please pray for us as this is unimaginable.............

As for the rest of you if you have more info my goodness send it to them. Any new photos especially screen shots take one every day you chat on line. you can take a screen shot from any chat whether its yahoo or skype after maybe 20 days send it to them along with any visits, money sent phone bills. Because after a year we all gather a lot we keep files but the more you send to them keeps you out of the interview queue. Not that the interview is bad but I rather they have all the info in hand because if you go there for an interview they usally don't take what you have brought like to prove yr relationship. So its more wise to send it before that happens.
Some cases will be approved before 31 months but not all. This is their way of slowing down their work load and making us all go crazy!!!

you have almost identical situation as us except I never applied for the visit visa for my wife and I live in a different province. it has nothing to do with what province you live in as it's a federal case.

have you ever tried to contact CIC youself? I did but it wasn't much of a help.

I was hoping to hear back from CIC by now as November 2013 is the deadline I was given. I wasn't worried until now and it's so frustrating. I just don't know what we can do at this point.

I have contacted CIC but they give no response and his MP was no help either. Now my husband has made an ATIP request online..I suggest you do the same to know what progress has been made on your file. What is your timeline?
