Today My Wife MP Got An Update from CHC-Islamabad,

She said there are some issues in our file and file has been returned to cic-Mississauga for reconfirmation something :( and She said they are thinking that I am living in Canada and I am sponsoring to my wife and Son from Pakistan and they said why I did not send my Son passport to them blah blah and even they are not providing complete info to my wife mp .Guys I am very confused and worried about my file. Mp said she will contact again to CHC-Islamabad on Monday and I hope they will tell her all the issues and problems regarding my file and then we will see whats going on with my file.

It's too depressing really! It is slowly torturing us :( i wonder what we did wrong to deserve this we gave our very best in this job.
Sigh! That truly is depressing. So you are saying that they think that you are living in Canada whereas it is your wife and son who is in Canada? is that so? What does it say on your ecas? Does it say 'decision made' or 'In process' in the Sponsorship Application Status?

I used to come to this forum by the nick of Became-a-loner, I disappeared from this forum after making some very good friends (in real life) and after earning some really foolish enemies, then after my wife got Remedical I returned to this forum with this new nick

here is my happy ending

Applied Dec 2010

File transferred Feb 2011

Visitor visa to Canada applied Dec 2011

Six months Visitor Visa granted: March 2012

Visitor Visa extended until March 2013

Re-Medical, IMM Forms, Re-PCC Oct 2012

Remedical Done in Canada Oct 2012

Medical received on e-cse Nov 2012

PPR Feb 2013

Visa Issued March 2013

Total 27 months time during which she lived with me in Canada for a year.

Tips:

Provide them as much proof as possible before the initial review of file, Dont send them anything Voluntarily unless requested once Remedical is issued

Dont provide too much documents (my file was weighing 7 KG and as a result it took them longest time to open it because they can set it aside and clear 4 files of 1 KG each

Apply for Visitor visa before the initial review, even if they decline it, it has no negative impact, instead it has positive impact since it shows that sponsor wants to spend more time with spouse in Canada.

Write a reasonable covering letter to Visit Visa Officer indicating that you fully understand the consequences of non compliance with regulation if she does not return to Pakistan in time and will make sure that she will return in time before the visa expiry.

Your job or income status does not matter to CHC-ISB. I work for Federal Govt of Canada and part time with City Govt of Toronto, it took me 27 months and I know guys who dont have a job and their spouses were granted immigration in 16 months.

If you spouse works or is studying in Pakistan, there is a better chance for him/her to get visit visa since you can at least show on documents that she has ties to Pakistan

For Visit visa, your income as a sponsor and job status does count.

dont bother Emailing CHC-ISB that is a complete waste of time, there is a pakistani guy who responds to email while he is texting his cousin girl friend.

Dont talk too much with your spouses using skype or phone, it will just make u more frustrated and upset, try to find some occupation such as study or some hobby, I know its hard but it is required for your sanity.

If your spouse has any family ties with politicians/Military/police/law enforcement, better dont indicate it on your file, I did that and they sent her file to detailed security check which took 9 months (yes an idiot advised me and I was an even bigger idiot to listen to him.

Old applicants will be more fairly treated because they are not sending new files to CHC-ISB directly, instead those sit in Ottawa for more than a year so unless CHC-ISB clears the backlog from 2010-2011 they wont have the luxury of picking up and finalizing the new applications and dumping the old one's into their BF bin.

One last thing..............DONT TELL YOUR CASE progress to your relatives or friends, if anyone writes a letter or email to CHC-ISB that your marriage is fake, they will set aside your file for years and put you in an interview que, I am not making it up I know an ex-employee of CHC-ISB who worked for immigration unit there for almost a decade, they have an official name of it called "Poison Letter"

If you need any help, please feel fee to ask by PM.

the following is a useful link in terms of their processing requirements.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op02-eng.pdf

Thanks for the useful information. You mentioned that your file was stuck in security checks for 9 months. My passport has been with them for 7 months now, MP says its stuck in background checks. Could it be the same thing as yours? Even though I have absolutely no ties with any politician/ government officials whatsoever.

Sad to hear about your current situation. You MUST sort things out with your wife. Other than that I guess you'll get a better idea once you receive any kind of correspondence from them. Keep us posted!

Please someone help me...My wife has been accepted as a Permanent Resident to Canada and now I am trying to get my 2 month old son to come with us as fast as possible before I leave back to Canada. My son is a Canadian Citizen through descent because of me. I am trying to get him a Canadian Passport however one of the requirements is Certificate of Registration of Birth Abroad. (For a child application, the child's foreign birth certificate that indicates names of parents must also be included)

I have the birth certificate of my son which is in English stating both his parent's names, but how do I get a Certificate of Registration of Birth Abroad? What is it? Please time is ticking and I dont know what to do

Also the fee for the Canadian Passport is $20 but how do I pay it. I have $20 Canadian Cash with me here in Pakistan but dont know if that will be accepted

I am sorry to disagree with you, but if a child is born in any country while one of his parents is a Canadian Citizen the child is then a Canadian Citizen through descent because one of the parents was a citizen during prior to his birth. I have confirmed this and now am just having the above mentioned problems.

My wife got her passport back today(Saturday). The Passport was stamped with IMM visa. They returned her original birth certificate, marriage certificate and marriage pics. Only one issue, on the record of landing, which is not valid for travel, somehow CHC islamabad write my previous Canadian address which was not even on the forms when i submitted Permanent resident application. Any suggestions, what i can do? Also the ecase at CIC website was updated and my wife's residential address is changed to Ontario Canada, should i update it to my current address? Let me know what i should do.
Thanks.

Try looking into this, get your kid's citizenship certificate and then you don't have to worry about getting him a visa.

from CanadaInternational.gc.ca
The proof of Canadian citizenship for a Canadian born abroad is a Canadian citizenship certificate. A child born outside Canada to a Canadian parent and meeting certain requirements is a Canadian citizen. However the child will not possess a birth certificate issued by a Canadian governmental authority and for proof of Canadian citizenship, the child will need to obtain a Canadian citizenship certificate. An application must be submitted to obtain this certificate. Although applications are processed in Canada, you may submit the application to a Canadian diplomatic office abroad
Application for a citizenship certificate: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certif.asp

don't worry about the address, when she lands she can correct the address with the immigration officer so that the PR card is sent to your new address. it happened the same to me, they put the address from when i first landed as a kid over 20 years ago.

is that certificate of registration of birth abroad still issued? i googled it and came up with the service canada website, http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sin/apply/proof.shtml, which showed that they needed it for citizenship proof if issued prior to 1977. anyone else go through a child being born abroad that can pitch in?

no, the immigration officer will fill it with her when she lands ... there are no landing fees. the PR application fees should have already being paid by you before the visa was issued (its part of the $1040 when you applied, or included in the RPRF if paid afterwards). i downloaded the forms online, filled them in and gave them to my wife to bring with her so she knows what questions need to be answered on that form. :)

search on the landing process on this forum, there is quite a lot of details on what she will have to go through, all of it easy but i find its best if you know of it beforehand.

after you land it takes about a month for the PR card to arrive. If you are moving between that time you will need to advise CIC of your new address, however if you are moving shortly after arriving then you might as well give CIC your new address when you land (since the current address where your spouse is staying will be temporary for you). Either way it can be done at the time of landing, or afterwards.

Thank you so much, would i inform cic of my spouse update address before landing or at the time of landing ? i fear that if we dont inform prior then they might think that we are deliberately concealing the fact isnt?
