here is the thing.......without taking anyones side....my analysis! bottom line, everyone stop complaining and do something!

1) We are not in a Muslim country, it is clearly understood. If we have issues with a non-Muslim country and we happen to live in that country, we should go back to our own country.
2) We don't give a damn about our own religion and country, why would anyone else?
3) We take our own religion and country for granted and always have bad to say about, forgetting that the it is the people of a country that make a country good or bad. If our country (home) is bad, it means we as people and citizens of that country are bad.
4) Harper said what his people wanted to hear. Obviously his people he was addressing were non-Muslims. If it were a Muslim leader in a Muslim country, he would have said way worse and openly about non-Muslims.
5) Being Muslims, we should learn tolerance of others existence. Do we?
6) I think there is more racism in Muslim countries than any other place on the planet. (Mainly because there is no rule of law there and law is everyone's bitc* there)
7) We cry foul when something goes wrong here but when we go back to our own country we become part of the wrong by using our influence wherever we can.

I do condemn what Harper said, but if I was in his place I would have said same or worse and I am sure you all will agree.

And the increasing timeline sucks! India has more scammers than any other country and they are able to bring their spouses in 3 months! wtf!

i like 2 and 3

Guys what you are used to putting up with back where you come from, you don't have to bring that same mentality and way of just TOLERATING any injustice and to let it prevail, to Canada.

Don't be shy to raise your voice if you feel something is wrong.

Harper is generalizing and promoting this streotype of Muslims and Islam and representing the rest of the Canada internationally and nationally.

Now how is this harmful to you and your future here?

If you recall the shortly after 9/11 and the violence in Toronto mosques then you will know what i mean. There was a lot of hate crimes against Muslims in GTA. And GTA is the most friendliest area for a new settlers as most people here have the same background and tend to understand the hardships and a lot more tolerant then other parts of Canada outside of Ontario.

What kind of a picture is he painting of the Canada in the future? One that holds streotypes against Muslims and no longer welcomes them(something like USA)?

As a prime minister he should know better that he is the voice of the rest of the Canada and his careless wording can cause hate crimes against innocent Muslim community which is already suffering from the aftermaths of 9/11 event.

Honestly? I would rather stay put my tounge (Keyboard??) from Religious and patriotic discussions since there is only so much you can say/write about it and rest assure, it causes a marathon of arguments.

My question is! How long they take for background checks, for a guy like me who lived in a same city/house since birth, never been outside for job or study, how much time will be enough to stamp "Crystal" on my paperwork?

It varies bro, anywehre from 45 days to 2+ years. My wife lived at one place since birth, no travel history, no work history and it took approximately 6 months after the initial review for the whole process to finish. We have seen a few cases that even if the file is in queue for Decision Making Officer, it can go back in queue for Background checks as it happened to maximus, saggit, and khan's husband, we also know that saifsmarty's file was in background checks for more than 2 years; so it really depends on the case and the officer handling your file to make that call. There is no set time frame for background/security checks...

Asa everyone, have a mini good news to share...I JUST received my re-medical alhamdolillah :) Since the DMP's in Khi are not available, I'll be going to Islamabad sometime next week to get it done...
Any advice or suggestions? How is Dr Nilofer Nadeem?

Also, since I received re-medical after 6 weeks of re-pcc, when can I expect PPR?
