I emailed 30 days after her remedical and they said it's been received and good until June 2012.

It takes them just a second to make a decision Dear it varies case to case, depends on the BFD and how long the queue is? What the agents want to review? Does he have more doubts on the case? Do the BG checks look good? Normally 1-3months on average!

For now, I would suggest you just try to get the file number. Then send the following after about 8 Months into your process so end of October 2011:

1) Medicals
2) rePCC
3) IMM0008(Application for Permanent Residence), Schedule 1 (Background/Declaration), IMM5406(Additional Family Information), and the supplementary form (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/pakistan/assets/pdfs/PakistaniNationals-Form-en.pdf)
4) Supporting documents such as emails, phone call logs etc...

hello everone, this question mite be answered before, but as most of u know that i am wating since jan 2010 and did the re pcc and medical in january 2011..since that time i am waiting for ppr..but on friday i got a reply that the case is pending for background check..i have no idead when it will be done..anyone has similar case or have heard about this...ur response will be appriciated.

oh yah..2 months before my case was in queue to be reviewed by immigration officer

so sad that still i have to wait...

My wife sent in her remed beginning of the month, I know it has not really been a month yet but I emailed CHC-Islamabad today anyways..... Hopefully I get a response!!!

Yes if you want, Whats your timeline? Send those voluntarily when you are about 8 months in after receiving AOR. You will save good 2 months of your timeline...

Sometimes they do that, if they are in doubt. We know that saggit's case is gone in BG checks again, Maximus' case was also gone in BG checks even after he got a reply that his file was in que with Decision Making Officer. Humaumair's husband just had his interview recently and they think that the file is sent to CSIS for BG checks again. So yes it seems like, if they are in doubt about something, they send the case in for deep BG checks. If I am not mistaken, your husband is from Afghanistan yeah? That could be one of the reasons for delays but hang in there it will be over soon InshAllah.

is anyone travelling from Karachi to Toronto or even from Islamabad to Toronto on 29th July from this forum? Preferably a lady. My wife is travelling so she is looking for someone to accompany her in this long journey.
