SALLAM TO ALL;
can some one tell me, how long is valid police clearance certificate for Pakistan. I made my wife PCC one in April 21, 2011 and i sent it on june 8 but my application is stuck with Canada post strike in Mississauga for the last 11 days.

Do you think by the time they review my file enshAllah somehow by this week or next hopefully. Do you think they will accept my wife Police Clarence Certificate?

its valid for 6 months, u wont have a problem with chc-miss, but by the time chc- isl reviews ur file, u'll need an updated re-pcc, its not a big deal, everyone has had to get re-pcc...some even 3 times

Initial PCC is valid for 1 year and as JMB sister said 2nd PCC is valid for 6 months. It will be considered valid untill April 2012. So no worries

OK guys i think i earlier said it wrong that canada post will be off strike. It seems the negotiations are still on going and no final decision has been taken in this regard.

It really depends on the district. Some are only good for 3 months, some for 6 and some are good for 1year. It says on the police certificate how long it is good for. You should have the photocopy of the one you sent check on there if its good for a year then great if not the you will probably need another one later on. Don't worry about it every one has received a request to get the new ones since the initial review happens after 11 months and the original is usually expired when the file opens for the first time.

Tell her to keep the URDU receipts with her just incase but as far as I know, you still need to declair that you are bringing it but you don't need anything for for custom clearance...

But there is alot of jewellery which does not have receipts, like, i got alot of stuff from my parents which was actually my moms or my nani or nani's moms...so what about that?

i sent my application at the end of April.. FedEx informed me that my parcel arrived in Mississauga on may 3rd.
now do I just wait till the CPC-M gives me a response?
i sent the application from Pakistan.. i am sponsoring my husband.. who recently went out of country. and i have to inform them of the temp. change in my husband's residence... how do i inform them when i don't know anything about my application??
and will they contact me( the sponsor) or my husband (the applicant)?
please if someone can help me out please do so.. its been more then 46 days...

me and my husband are waiting desperately.. i still have my studies to finish...please help!!

I assume that you are a Canadian Citizen living in Pakistan because being a permanent resident you have to be in Canada to sponsor husband in Pak, CPC miss might have sent out a letter to you which may be stuck in mail due to Canada post strike since they only use Canada post regular mail to correspond. I will suggest to make a quick call to CIC call centre. I think the service is only available in Canada to call the CIC call centre, what you can do is to have a friend living in Canada to call them and bring you in a conference call for status update

regarding the change of address of your husband................ hold your horses until the file is transferred to CIC-islamabad and you are issued a file number. they will send an approval/rejection letter from CPC-Miss to YOU not to your husband whom I assume he is a sponsored spouse and you are the sponsor
