Thanks everyone for the previous reply

Another question... How about i change my mailing address. Do you think that is going to be a problem? Like i said before what they have right now is my lawyers address as my mailing address in Canada which is taking too long. If i do change the address it will make life easier as they mail will reach early. Also, i am not being able to see my status on E-CAS from the very begining. It always gives me an error. i put my file number and my husbands information. Please guide on that too.. also on how to change address? how do they confirm if they have updated the system, and if there is any problem with that?

No changing your address shouldn't effect the processing of you application. You can change your address online through e-cas option but if not then by contacting CHC-ISL and providing them your file number and the change of address. Usually you can check the update on e-cas but I don't know what to do if you can't see your address on e-cas

they asked me the following information:
1. supplemental information form
2. pre, and post as well as wedding pics.
3. phone bills, copy of email in boxes, skype logs

Thats all about it

Well just to give you an idea they may not always ask for more documents but I got AOR in september and processing began september 12th 2009 and I just got additional document request on April 26th. But like I said they might not always request something

no I am sponsoring my husband which generally takes a little longer than a husband sponsoring his wife so just hold out for another few months and inshallah you will hear something good inshallah :)

Hey i have a question regarding my wifes application timeline for visa. Under status it says in processing what does this actually mean. Does it mean that the visa officer has the file and is looking into it or they have not received it yet. And my other question is we sent an email back in february asking for an update on my file. They replied back saying they received the receipt and its in processing times or we have not provided enough information to verify indentity. Does this mean that they need more documents to support our identity or it could be the other thing which is in processing. Iam sponsoring from afghanistan and we dont have an embassy there so thats why we sent the file to islamabad. On the cic.gc.ca website the timeline for pakistan is about 9months, but i know a few families that recently applied got there visa within 4 months. We started the process in nov 18/2009 so its been about 6months now. So i need someone who has been through this to explain what they did differently that their application was approved within 4months and did not take as long as mine. Please any information that would help speed things up would be greatly appreciated.
