:o :o.........8-14 months .............................. :o :o

u gonna give me heart attack ...isnt it toooo long .... i've seen some of ppl who got their immigration done in almost 8 months (in totality).....

Yes right now the average is 7-14 months from the date when processing starts in Islamabad

Do you know for normal cases, how they verify birth certificates? Do they go to municipalities to check birth records in registers for old birth certificates (80's) or they compare it with ID Card & Passport?

My file has been transferred to the Islamabad office for further processing. I have attached all the required material mentioned in the documents checklist No. IMM5491 which includes:

Copy of my educational docs, ID card (+English translation), passport
Original Police certificate
Medical receipt from the doctor
Original marriage certificate (and its English translation)
My photos with negative
photos of our wedding, trip and a family wedding we attended together
mailing envelopes that me and my spouse used for correspondence
copy of telephone bills (since we got married until March 2010)
printouts of our email boxes showing our email exchanges
screenshots of our sms messages
screenshots of our some emails
screenshots of greeting messages from our friends about our wedding
screenshots of our chatting
comments of our friends on our photos published through my facebook account

I just wanted to confirm does the Mississauga office transfer the complete file or only some documents to the Islamabad office. If some documents then can anybody let me know which documents? and which documents they will ask us to provide them again? I want to get the idea so that I can keep those documents ready.

I am being sponsored by my spouse and my timeline is as follows:
Application received at Mississauga office= March 29, 2010
Application approved and sent to Islamabad office= April 23, 2010

Hi
for ID translation there are 2 options
1- get is translated from NARDA, and they will stamp it
other option is

Get it translated form some Oth commisner and he will stamp it or you can get is signed and stamped form some 17th Grade Govt. officer.

@psionator: my sponsor got the letter of approval from Mississauga. Hope you will also get a good new soon.

@arzoo: yes, English or French translation is necessary for all the documents that are not in English / French. This means that all educational, birth certificate and even Nikha Nama (marriage certificate) need to be translated into English / French if these are not in English/Frnch. Please refer Appendix A (county specific instructions) which says: “If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the originals”.
I notarized my ID card by an oath commissioner available in the city court. They usually charge Rs 100 – 150 for this.

thanxxxxxxx . i'll get it done .. do we need to send the original translated paper or the photocopy is enough??
