CONGRATS to all the members who got good news, please keep us in your prayers too.

I asked my MP, still have not heard back from him, most likely end of next week if they ever decide to reply to him.

My passport has been with CHC ISB for over 3 months now, crazy, what are they doing!! Sitting on it as if was going to hatch LOL!

And to think, I always wondered why new immigrants screw with Canadian government here, now I know why, they torture them in this Immigration Process so they come here and pay them back hard.

What goes around comes around!

Anyways, I hope and pray that once of these days Canada can get back to how they used to be with Immigration.

Jaania I can feel your pain, I really don't understand why on earth they keep a PP for so long, logically when PP is requested it is that they have made the decision and it is to stamp the visa, otherwise if they still have some background or medical to check why they ask PP ? this doesn't make any sense. PP is travel document, no embassy in any country will keep someone's PP so long as the person may need to travel.

When I read you guys I have feeling that in 2010 something really bad happened in CHC-I because before that people were getting visa in 6-7 months. I feel like in 2010 they have put someone in CHC-I who hate Pakistanis and doing his maximum to delay the process.

Anyway you don't have any other choice then wait because we pakistanis have no unity and courage to bring forward this issue in press and in court for the discrimination. As I don't see this happening we all and all future applicant will keep suffering. Even you when you will get visa (IA Soon) you won't come back and won't be interested to take part in such actions if they happens just like others. If we don't stand nothing will change anyway.

Keep courage and may Allah help us all in these difficult moments.

Just one thing I noticed is anyone who sent his/her PP in November 2012 got it back ? I feel like there is an issue will people who sent their PP in November, I don't know what happened in this month. Strange

SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP FROM PAKISTAN
Why Our Gov't has one of the slowest process for spousal sponsorship from Pakistan and currently the timeline for issuing the visa is 28 months, and the time I applied was Sept 2010 when the timeline was only 16 month, but there are many people waiting for the visa since then, and for some cases the visa is not issued for 5 years or more but on the other hand for people who need visa as student, entrepreneur or skill worker and even for trv/visitor's visa does not take more than 2 months. All of those visas include back ground check as well, but just for getting our spouses to come to Canada and before submitting the spousal sponsorship application the police clearance certificate from Pakistan, medical, marriage certificate and all the required documents are submitted with application so why they have to take years in process which is nothing but a torture. If we look at United states and United kingdom, they don't even take this long to go through back ground check or issuing a visa whenever Canada take's such a long time for this process just because the Gov't doesn't think that there is any benefit from the spouses even though we have to send money from Canada for our spouses and which is not good for our economy either. Whenever if husband and wife work in Canada and support Canadian economy and some of them may be looking into starting business, but the Canadian government just ignore them somehow, which is not fair and it shows that it has two tier systems, one system for the desirable by the Gov't and the other is for undesirable by the Gov't. That is totally lacking humanity and compassion keeping families apart especially whenever this great country is known to be one of the most tolerant and humanitarian.
I can't imagine how to cope under these untenable circumstances. Especially when I see there are so many other applications which had been submitted in 2011 and so many months later after I applied, have received the visas while they just neglect some applicants for years to be interviewed or even after the interview they may take another year or so to clear those applications.
If we search through Google CHC, Islamabad spouse sponsorship Timeline 2009 -2010 and see the website called “canadavisa.com” which shows 2011 applications getting through but 2010 applications are still waiting to be reviewed and no visa had been issued for so many long and these are just a fraction of the total immigration cases where some people know about this forum and are posting and sharing their problems.
The lack of transparency from Canadian high commission Islamabad is so depressing; one cannot anticipate what will happen at any given time with any certainty. The entire process is as intimidating as it is haphazard and arbitrary, and in dire need of revision or preferably audit, because the system is not working as first in first out but rather it's a total chaos.

yes you are right but most cases with interview they usulay getting late, if you read previous post there are 2011 cases who already landed in Canada and we 2010 ppl still waiting, so it depand on luck as well, and Allah SWT knows better what best time for us, so we can only pray and be patient and you sent your pp and remded in dec 2012 together so its been only 2 months and its normal to have visa in 2 months time or more.
Immigration to Canada drops by 25 per cent in 2011
Published On Sun Jul 17 2011
Nicholas Keung Immigration Reporter
Canada let 25 per cent fewer immigrants into the country in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2010, raising concerns the Conservative government is embarking on a bold plan to restrict the country's immigration levels.
The number of permanent resident visas issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada between January and March fell from 84,083 in 2010 to 63,224 this year, according to figures obtained by the Star.
The latest department numbers show a decline across the board, with visas for, family-sponsored relatives down 14 per cent, and refugees dropping by 25 per cent.
The significant drop in visas comes on the eve of public consultations Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is holding on the country's immigration levels and classes of people that should be allowed in. The first meeting was held in Calgary last week, and another is scheduled in Toronto Wednesday.
“It's a very sharp decline,” said Myer Siemiatycki, professor of politics and public administration at Ryerson University, referring to the visas granted. “It begs the question: What is going on here?
“Has the government decided on the outset that they want fewer admissions? Is the tap being closed tighter?”
In the months leading up to the May 2 federal election, the Conservatives touted 2010 as a banner year in immigration, welcoming 280,000 permanent residents, the highest in 50 years. In 2009, approximately 265,000 immigrants were granted permanent status.
The Conservative government has announced it intends slashing $4 billion in annual spending from the federal budget, raising fears of further cuts to the immigration system. More than $50 million was slashed this year in settlement services.
“The success (of immigration) is determined by the resources. This government has been cutting resources and a number of provinces have,” said New Democrat immigration critic Don Davies.
Immigration lawyers say fewer permanent visas could mean bigger backlogs, especially for family sponsorships where there is no cap on applications like there is for skilled workers and investors.
“The real problem with backlogs is parents . . . The math says people will die before seeing a visa,” said immigration lawyer and analyst Richard Kurland. “That is the major challenge to Canada's immigration system today.”
Immigration lawyer Mario Bellissimo said he would not be surprised if the minister brings in a new law to cap family sponsorship applications. Since 2006, the number of visas for sponsored relatives and refugees has declined, while visas for workers have steadily increased.
“The (immigration) minister has the authority to decide who can come to Canada. Since 2008, the federal government has made numerous changes to its immigration program in an effort to eliminate backlogs and process applications in a more timely fashion. It counts on capping the number of immigration applications it accepts for processing.
A department backgrounder for the upcoming consultations, which are by invitation only, suggests while increasing immigration may be one way to solve the growing demand, With an aging population, “immigration levels will need to be raised to 350,000 annually to support Canada's economic growth,” said Anne Golden, president and CEO of the Conference Board of Canada.
Ryerson's Siemiatycki said Canada has a capacity to take in as many as 450,000 immigrants a year by including the 200,000 temporary foreign workers that it lets in to fill labour market needs on a perennial basis.
Drop in immigrant acceptance in the first quarter

Understanding CHC Islamabad:
A man could not wait for his spousal sponsorship visa for Canada and finally made a boat to sail to Canada but the boat capsized in the sea before he reached to his destination. He was lucky that the waves cast him up on a desert island.
After months of loneliness, a beautiful coloured bottle washed up on the beach. The man picked it up and caressed it, admiring its beauty, until a genie came out in a puff of smoke.
“Thank you for releasing me from my prison,” the genie said. “I grant you any wish you like. I can’t do magic, but I’m very strong and wise.”
“Wonderful,” the man said. “Build me a bridge so I can get to Canada so I can meet my wife.”
“Oh, come on,” the genie said. “Do you have any idea what a massive engineering adventurous accomplishment that would be? There’s not enough steel or stone in the world for that. I’m just a simple genie. Wish for something realistic.”
“Okay then,” the man said. “I wish to understand the mind of people working in Canadian embassy in Islamabad.”
“Alright,” said the genie, sighing. “ What kind of bridge, Did you want a suspension bridge, cable bridge, or arch bridge?”
