So I looked at my sponsorship approval letter and YES it does have a KIT ID however, KIT ID is NOT the same as Immigration File Number that my wife received from Islamabad. So the KIT ID has something to do with sponsor's package.

For Immigration File Number; as I said you will have to email CHC-Islamabad and find out what it is. The ID you are talking about that people receive from mississuaga is UCI (Universal Client ID), which was only introduced in July 2011 so thats standard for the whole process and you are right, if you have UCI then you won't need immigration file number. However, you applied I believe before July and therefore they didn't have UCI at that time so they only gave you Client ID.

that was sent by couple of members ......... last time Mr Rajah kept track of who sent it and encouraged people to send it ....... apparently they have sped up the process a bit ...... and this ever increasing time frame is the result of backlog since 2009. It does not hurt to draft a new one ...... and there are many new members from 2011 as well. Are you in it?

Fewer cases for spousal because number has dropped less people are sponsoring spouses and more are doing family such parents and brother and i think there will be hardly any rufugees from pakistan unless if they wanted to claim refugee from loadshedding coruution


Spousal cases will be faster inshallah the fewer spousal the faster they process them just be patient

I applied june 28 and people who applied 2 weeks before me and couple of weeks after me got the UCI number as u mentioned its like getting singled out

Thats why it feels weird wes bahi look at the list couple of pages before people who got approval in august and september

Lets take it this way....26 months is the WORST CASE SCENARIO...Abhi bhi, there were very few, complicated cases which took 24 months or more on average...right? So this is based on the average it would take. Seems like they are speeding up, but this is their way of discouraging people from applying. Countries which have a lesser timeline, it clearly shows those countries are investing in Canada, and they ONLY want people from there...

Don't worry, inshAllah all of you will get through this very soon. Remember, 'If God brings you to it, He brings you though it'...You're all in my prayers

And I also think all those who are good at writing, PLEASE start writing to newspapers, letters to the editor, tv channels- where are all thw NGO's and human right activists?
I think I've even made up my mind as to what I want to do when I get to Canada...this is getting insane now- we need to stop people from generalizing Pakistani's and the Pakistani community and bring to notice that newly weds have the right and deserve to live together....

Shows u there just lazy the more we complain the more timeline increases

Dear Honorable xxx,

I would like to bring to your attention a very touchy matter, Since 2008 the spousal visa time frame at Canadian High Commission Pakistan has consistently been on the rise and now in the last update earlier this year the waiting time frame has hit an all time high...an average wait time of 26 months (this excludes the 45 days it takes at Processing office in Mississauga).

The emotional toll and suffering we have to go through during the waiting time is unbearable and cannot be described in words, it is of no question that it is the worst experience of all in one's life and puts unnecessary stresses on even a legit relationship, work performance and future goals, which I believe defies the spirit of family reunification as described in Citizenship and Immigration Act of Canada.

It is quite surprising and disturbing to witness that our neighboring country with identical cultural background has spousal visa processing time of only 6 months. I am not sure if this unusual waiting time only applies to Canadian High Commission Islamabad due to understaffing issues or spousal visa quotas for Pakistan. Being a taxpayer and active member of Canadian society I strongly feel that our community should not be subject to the pain and suffering ensuing from this extraordinary waiting time just to reunite with our spouses.

I believe that your office will take necessary steps to look into this matter to help hundreds of Pakistani spouses in Canada. We require your help since you are the leaders chosen by our staunch support and mandate.

yah u r rite brother ....last tym forum members complain the tym line gone from 16 months to 22,24 N now 26 months nothing will get change... it will b useless to do again.

Dear Sister, with due respect, I totally disagree with your vision about chcI timeline...

Do you really think timeline is gone up because we did raise our voices as a community - how can you prove this? To me, your given statement is an example of this: This world is blind--how can I explain?

Actually we are like the pigeon who closes his eyes to shut out the sight of the cat when the cat comes to eat him. Of course, the cat remains, and the poor pigeon realizes it only when the cat takes hold of him.

btw... we started complaining when timeline was at 22 months (you are welcome to browse old threads - they are still present on this forum).

On a positive note, I think, it happened because of our complains, now they have started taking smaller jumps of two months (22 months to 24 months and now 26 months) in their case processing timeline rather than taking bigger jumps of six months (i.e. 16 months to 22 months) in one go;
