I still have a hope that it has to do something with the case activity as there is another forum thread where they track ecase address and then the activity.

I hope you are right bro. The reason I think it was a glitch/upgrade this time as members who applied in March/April 2011 had their address disappear as well. It came back for a lot of people. Check out this thread for August address disappearence:

Hi Guys, just want to share something with u-I have seen that most of us having address disappearing issue, but you know what ,according to my experience I think when ever they updates your file, I mean review or any updates happen address gets disappeared
My BFD was Sept.21.2011.and on sept 20 my add. Disappeared and I check rite now it is back again. This is just an idea so plzzzzzzz comments.
I find this forum is helping us a lot.

Bro it doesnt matter if it is March/April case, dont forget background check started once application enetered into system and AOR OR ecase status issued. So for March/April AOR's it could be the background check activity OR may be creating filing folders hehe. Good example is I received obecjtion letter /medical/PCC request in Oct 2010 and my AOR is JAN 2010. However when I received my CAIPS in FEB 2011 there was form related to background check where I see officers from RCMP, Canada border security and FBA initials their name with remark "Cleared" and some other 1 line comments hard to read. Beside initials there was date which were dated one in Aug & other two in Sep but altogether I think with in 3 weeks range. But in Aug/Sep from my end I was thinking its been only 7 months and my file is not opend yet for initial review where as behind the scene it was different story.

Well we need to find any such member whose address was ON during the whole last month. Personally i think this address thing is an indication. I know few months ago my address use to be ON all the time while ppl's getting on and off but recently it started to appear / disappear and i got the re-med, re-imm, re-pcc, request to send passport pages with in/out stamps and marriage not genuine thing.

Yes this is the thread I was refering to. But we cannt compare our ecase address with them as by reading the thread I reliaze those applicants are belong to the visa officer which are lot quicker than CHC-I so their Aug address disappearnce cannot be compared with our (CHC) address disappearnce but you are right it give the clue as what happend to their case after address came back.

AS PER OUR CAIPS the officer issued a request of forms and pcc on our file on aug 13 and our address disapeared around the same time.
and then after a month it finally disappeared again this tuesday i.e on 20th, and im thinking inshAllah they would have placed our updated pcc and forms on file..

so even though tooday th address came back for a lot of people, the duration for which the address disappeared is different for each one..for some it was 3 weeks, month, a week or just few days..so i am thinking it might not be glitch afer all. :-X

My wife already has the VISA and all her documents what else could they be working on? :S And there are like so many member who it happened to all at once! I think it was just an upgrade atleast this time...
