Canada is no longer accepting applications from people who want to join their children or grandchildren in Canada, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney announced today.

The citizenship and immigration minister also announced a new super visa for people who want to visit their family members. The 10-year visa would allow them to stay for up to two years at a time. People will have to have private medical insurance and meet a minimum income level to have their parents or grandparents accepted

I have been checking almost daily for any good news from CIC or CHC. I am always disoppointed. I never see any constructive approach from Kenney to improve the timelines. He always further complicate the situation with restrictions, giving more power to IO to refuse etc etc. He is always crying about immigration frauds from India and China, but keep their processing times stable.

They might be working on a very strict plan to follow for reducing the fraud cases there as they use computer technology to change photos :

What does this announcement mean for Spouses???? I want to read the announcement as I only got to catch a few question and answers at the end of the announcement over the phone conference.
