Just visit your spouse whenever you can, send proof of relationship, update PCC yourself after 7-8 months, send pics in which u and your spouse look very comfortable with each other so that anyone looking will feel these two are husband and wife. Lastly, demand an update as to what is happening. Remember, the emails should be sent by the sponsor and in a professional and respectful manner so that anyone reading would go an extra mile in replying with more details of the case. So proof read your emails and refine the language as much as you can. That way the official looking at it would feel obliged to respond. Even if they send generic replies, they do make notes and could positively affect the case in future!
Remember, you have to think from the immigration officer's standpoint. They always connect the dots and make a story out of each case. Always fill the initial application properly with the best of your abilities and check, check again and recheck. That sets your "Kashti" in the right direction!
