Aoa. I think, I must share with all of you this first good news in Canada for me is that I have passed G road test in first attempt by the grace of God and prayers of my parents(May God rest their souls in peace). I taken G1 licence last month and I directly opted to take G road test. I am especially thankful to Mr. Muneer bhai who is also in Mississauga and he sent me the G1 test book. Thank you Muneer Bhai!

Great Job Rana bhai .... I am here in Canada for about 7 months now and i have only G1 ... I just started taking driving classes, hopefully will get the license soon. Tell me where you went for your road test?

Who ever is planning to come Canada...........just start searching for upgrading their education from Canada as they land as immigrants and if they want to do good jobs. Do IELTS & GMAT before coming to Canada and also if you can arrange money for completing these course because the scenario is now changed, you are not going to get any student loan before one or two years........

I would say that whatever jobs we do in Canada and we say it odd job but it is the pure "HALAL KAMAI and Khoon paseenay ki kamai or is hi leyai yahan ki kamai mai BARKAT hay and this is you also going to realize

Yes, its hard to get a job of your liking but you will face similar problem if you just move to different city in Pakistan say karachi to lahore ,.,.., you have to start again from the scratch ....

Regarding student loan (OSAP), here in Ontario, all new comers are eligible to get OSAP from very 1st day they land in Canada provided that they got admitted in any University.

Muneer Sb and PK 09 please also share what kind of jobs you are doing there.......and thanks for sharing OSAP link but i am now a days searching for MBA program while doing my job in saskatoon but you knw loan comes after taking addmission and you have to do IELTS and GMAT for any masters program in canada.....i think those who r planning to come canada must do IELTS and GMAT if they want to study and GMAT is really tough work..........i do feel that i shud have done GAMT OR IELTS before coming to canada....and only education here in canada can get us good job.......take care and also share your experiance.......i was from banking industry in pakistan so i am going to regiter a course CANADIAN SECURITY COURSE....that is must for getting banking job in canada and here in saskatoon, lots of pakistani r in banks and doing good jobs who have come here before 4 years but now even getting odd job is also tough in this prov....canada is more like now UK AND AMERICA

Yes you are right. Before coming here, its better to complete GMAT. I also extracted information for Masters program from Canada Universities when i was struggling for a job of my liking and found that its not easy to get admission... its tough.

Yup, u eligible for OSAP if u get admission in any decent university.

I also looked for canadian security course, but its tough as well... its all Finance and one need to spend good time and concentration for study and pass it and its not easy to give time to studies if u r a newcomer.

I am an IT professional. I came here in March and started looking for a job in my field after couple of days through internet. Initially i was not getting any response due to my resume, as i uploaded my resume as per Pak style. Here u need to alter ur resume as per the requirements of Canadian employers. Luckily i came across one of my friend who helped me updating my resume. Then i uploaded it on workopolis and Monster.ca. These are two very good websites. From next day, recruiters started calling me asking for my background and all. After 4 months i.e in July, Alhumdulliah I got a job here in Mississauga in an IT company in Product support dept. - its almost same kind of work i was doing back in Pak.

So, my advise is ... keep trying applying for jobs in ur field. Start doing an odd job, if u get.. and please do not stop applying jobs in ur field, as i saw many educated pakistani brothers here ended up driving a taxi here... so keep applying jobs, give interviews,.,,,,, u will learn from ur mistakes ....

If you miss an opportunity, don't fill the eyes with tears
It will hide another better opportunity in front of you .....

Mistakes are painful when they happen
But months later collection of mistakes called experience, which leads to success

Apart from 4131 I am a skilled electrician as well but I dont have any formal education in that field. I studied on the internet. George Brown college and Humber college are offering Diplomas and apprenticeship programs for trade skills.
Is it a good idea to enroll for these kind of programs ?
Is it difficult to get enrolled for Pre apprenticeship training or very easy ?

If you have to start from scratch in Canada then why not be prepared and start all over again.

100% agree with u Salman. Every newcomer has to start from the scratch. Humber College is good and its not difficult to get admission there. Its a private college, so any one can get admission easily and I think they also help to get student loan or OSAP (I dont know the details).
