Hi to everyone ,
I have a job offer in Alberta that should qualify me for the Alberta PNP as a Skilled Worker . My final gol is to go live in Ontario but I don' t qualify in any other cathegory .
If I accept the work offer and go work and live in Alberta how long have I to stay there before I can leave the job and move ?
I know it sounds bad to immigrate in this way , but I' m really not able to do it in another way .
Thanks for every help you can give me

If you go to Alberta on a work permit, you have to stay at least until you get your PR and shortly after that you can think about moving. Keep in mind that this can easily take a couple of years.

If you are applying through PNP from your home country with a job offer in Alberta without going there first, you should at least land in Alberta and stay for a couple of months before you move.

Immigration has recently started cracking down on people who land outside their PNP province and who they don't believe have an intention of settling there. Even if you do land in your PNP province, keep in mind that for PNP, you do sign a statement of intent to settle in that province so by staying at least a couple of months after you land, you can say later if anybody asks that you really did intend to settle but got a better offer elsewhere.

Thanks a lot for the replay , it' s surely very good news !!!
I would have another two questions for you : in your mail you tell me that if I go on a work permit I have to stay till shortly after I have my PR and that can easily take a couple of years , the question is , how can I have a PR in only two years on a work permit ? I always thought a little less than four years between two years to have the work experience to qualify for the Canada Experience Class and two years for the approuval . Is there another way once you are in Canada on a work permit ? Would that work the same in other provinces and even in Ontario ?
That would really change my prospectives .
Thanks for all your attention and help

Your subject line refers to PNP and this is posted under the topic of Provincial nominee programs. If you apply under Alberta PNP, that has nothing at all to do with Canadian Experience class.

Your employer would have to apply with you for a nomination from the PNP. The employer can do that right away, no limit but getting it can take several months. When you get it, you can apply for your PR.

@ Leon I have a quick question in regards to this. If I have lived in the province that nominated me throughout the PR process and landed in the same province, are you allowed to move say before PR card?

PS I have no intent to move but just want to know the basic procedure which might come handy in worst situations :)

You should in any case stay until after the PR card comes in the mail. Then you can think about moving. When you immigrate through a PNP, you sign a statement saying you intend to settle in that province. If you don't intend to settle in that province at the time you land as a PR, that is misrepresentation. If immigration feels that you misrepresented yourself at any point, they may want to revoke your PR. It would then be up to you to prove that you did not misrepresent yourself. If you left the province a day after you landed as a PR, it would be very hard to prove that you had intended to settle there when you landed a day earlier. The longer you've stayed after getting your PR, the easier it would be to prove because you can always say you really intended to settle but ended up getting better offers from somewhere else.

Good to know, thanks for the quick answer Leon. Like I said I have no plans want to know what is the general rule so that if something bad happens we can be prepared.

Hi to everyone and thanks for your replay .
Of course , Leon , you' re right , my question was about the Alberta PNP and I don' t know if I should post this under another topic , but I really would need some help from you .
The fact is that reading your first answer I had the impression you were telling that with a work permit it takes a couple of years to get a PR .
Knowing that you have a lot more experience than me I think maybe there' s something important I' m missing . For me it would be a lot easier and better to go directly to Ontario on a work permit if I could get a Pr in a couple of years . What scared me and made me think at the Alberta PNP was the idea that it would take a lot more time .
So , if I find out that it' s possible in such a short time and how it works , I would change my programs for the better , it would be a great improuvement for the next years of my life .
Sorry for not explainig myself better before and thanks for all

Ontario has a PNP too. If you have a job offer in Ontario, you can definitely try to get a work permit there and see if the employer will sponsor you for PR.

I have a job offer in Ontario , but no possibility to access to PNP there . So I was thinking ( but maybe I' m totally wrong and that' s what I want to understand ) that if I go to Ontario accepting that job offer it would take me a little less the four years to get a PR and that' s long and I' m not very joung . Is there any way , outside of PNP , to get a PR in a shorter time with a job offer ?
I' m really sorry to disturb you so much Leon and I understand that the question goes out of the topic of PNPs , but I wish to have your opinion ( and any other' s opinion of course )
Thanks a lot to everyone for reading and answering me

If you qualify to apply under the skilled worker program with 67 points etc. you can apply under there with your job offer and valid work permit. That might be the fastest way if you are starting from zero. If you look at trackitt.com and apply through the Buffalo office, the average processing time is a bit shy of 1.5 years. Your own country might be faster but you don't say where you are from so you will have to look up the info for that visa office yourself.

CEC will probably take about 3 years, 2 to get the hours and 1 to process.

You know you get extra points for a job offer. Still don't have enough points? If not, nothing much to do but wait for CEC.

Re: Changing Province after approved PNP

Hi Leon,

Would you mind answering my 2 questions regarding PNP. Keeping in mind the fact that I wanna use PNP on point basis not work permit.

1). If I get PNP from a province on the basis of full time job offer, what's the basic difference between this job offer and AEO. Does this full time full time job offer need to be verified by HRSDC?

2). If I land in Canada on the basis of PNP, what will be my resident status at that time? If its permanent Residency than what's the difference between PR acquired by FSW and PNP?
