Change status to work permit/visitor after applying Inland Spousal Sponsorship

I'm PR of Canada, my wife is in Canada and we applied for my wife's inland PR application last week but didn't include open work permit application with PR application.

She is on Student visa (but currently not studying) and it's expiring in March... Also, she cannot get after study work permit (not sure what's exact term, Post graduation WP?).

Can we apply for Open Work Permit now? (I heard rules have changed and they don't even allow Open Work Permit with PR file either) if not what should we do to maintain her status in Canada?

Is it necessary to maintain status? Only option I see right now is Visitor visa. I'd assume visitor visa should be very easy to get any chances of rejection?

Can we link my visitor visa file to the inland PR application we did for my wife so we have good proof?

Is it adivsable to apply online or paper application?

Under the new changes, you can't apply for OWP until the wife gets AIP stage. Until then, you would have to submit a visitor extension before her study visa expires.

Are all visitor visa application same? or it depends on your status? (i.e change of status from student to visitor Vs. Visitor extension, if you are in Canada Vs. outside Canada).

I think they are all the same application (not 100% sure). I think there is a pull down menu choice of study, visitor, work in the application.
