Hi there,

Last year my common-law partner and I lived together in Korea for a complete year and I'm finalizing our documents to apply for her outland application. Unfortunately we only have a photocopy of our lease agreement (in Korean), not a certified true copy or the original. I have had a certified translation made, but I'm worried that it might not be valid without a certified true copy.

What do you recommend in this case? Should I
a) hand it in as is, or
b) sign the translated version of the lease and hand that in (because English documents do not require a certified true copy), or
c) something else?

many thanks for your help!

Hi

A lease is not an official document (i.e. PCC, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.) and therefore didn't actually need to be formally translated or certified.

Include the copy you have and the translation.
