Hi everyone,

From the answers of my previous post I have decided to retake the language test again, however I chose CELPIP this time just because the dates are easily available.

Anyone has done CELPIP? Any reviews?

As per the sample tests on their website, it looks similar to IELTS with more simplicity.

I am trying to search for sample test material, no luck yet! If anyone has the material please help me. If possible email me at sundip111 @ yahoo.com

Thanks in advance.

CELPIP is a simple test. Sample questions are there on their website that would give you an idea of the test. Good luck

You don't need any additional material to prepare. For speaking part, take time to think about your response and speak clearly.

Thank you.. As simple as they have it on website!!

absolutely..very simple. If you are using English in your daily communication at work, you will be good.

Also refer to that one: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/celpip-my-experience-t155078.0.html

i did celpip if u want additional info go to a public library they have books for u to read with a cd included

Thank you for your help friends, I will try to crack this on 20th.. will post my experience here..

Thanks again.

Hi,

Where are you based? I have a hard copy with a CD for CELPIP test preparation. Perhaps it could be of help.

Hi astasi,

Could you please advise on Speaking test

Like once a question is asked by computer, should we speak immediately or we can take few second to think and answer?

How overall speaking test goes on?

CELPIP is pretty easy and straightforward.

The only thing I would add of note for the speaking part, is that you can take some time to think of your answers before recording them for the test - but there's a time limit, so don't think of too much to say! I got caught out a couple of times where I'd go off on a tangent only to realise I had three seconds left! I overthought things on a few questions and ended up almost running out of time on that section.

For the last question (question 16 a believe), Take 2 min to think about your answer. You can right down the main points you develop. And try to speak at least 1.5min.
I did not have to do this. I wasted to much time on the other questions.

Hi CEC2283,

I presume your query has already been addressed :)

You have time to think. However, the total amount of time you are given for
the speaking test is still counting down. So don't take too much time to think and make notes.

Yes, do not take too much time to think and try the answer the question without repeating the question.
I scored 3H on my first test. I think I was answering the questions without taking a few seconds to think. I started recording as soon as the question was asked. On the 2nd test, I took a few seconds to think about my answer. A bit too much since I had only 2 min left to prepare and answer the last question. I think I did not answered it well. I developed only one point and basically repeated it to try speak at least one minute. The time was over any way. I scored 5L.
