2112. I read on here that some physics post-docs went for 2111 and got PR.rtaylor said:I am doing postdoc last for one and half year.
I wish to apply for PR, I got 7 bands in IELTS.
My skill falls under 4011 and 2112.
I am confused in which category I should apply, 4011 or 2112.
In case of 4011, I may not cover all main duties mentioned on web for NOC 4011.
While for NOC 2112, I cover most of the main duties.
I came on postdoctoral work permit (4011), is it possible for me to apply under 2112 (Chemist) category?
Does any one has any idea?
jes_ON said:Yes, if that is what you do, then you should apply under NOC 2112.
In the Foreign Worker's manual.
"Given the absence of an occupational code in the NOC for post-doctoral fellows, please use the
applicant's specialty. For example, an applicant in Earth Sciences could be coded 2113 as a
geologist or 2115.2 as a soil scientist."

Yes I have closed work permit, thats why I am confused to apply under 2112 category.
I trained graduate students and also helped them in writing their thesis.
According to all discussion above,
One thing is clear that I have only one option of 4011, am I understand correctly?
And I need to have strong reference letter including few duties.
Does any one has idea ? how many duties should match with main duties?
By looking at this it seems that its difficult to apply as postdoctoral fellow, since they merged with 4011 without mentioning the duties for postdoc.
Please comment on chances of getting PR on 4011 category.
Thanks
When did you apply for PR?EmVanc said:Hi,
Sorry to hear about your refusal.
I am a postdoc in Biochemistry and I applied for PR under Noc 4011. I went through the all process; and after Medical, my status on E-case shows Decision Made.
I don't teach and only do research. The duties on my reference letter are:
- Design, implementation and analysis of research experiments using molecular and structural biology techniques on her designated research projects.
- Write manuscripts for publications in scientific journals or books.
- Present her work with poster and oral communications at national/international meetings and workshop.
I didn't include my publications but attached a very detailed resume.
