I just saw that the processing time for CEC has been updated to 7 months.
The 6 months were not changed in a long time, although it always took longer.
Do you believe that by updating this IRCC is making a statement that they have their backlog under control now?
Otherwise, why would they bother updating it at all?

I hope so. Even though I dont reach 7 months until the end of next month I hope I don't end up waiting months or even a year+ since i've only got the background check and criminality to get started

I reach 7 months end of April. Let's hope that it means that they have a more accurate estimate for their processing now.
Maybe that helps them organize better and the wait times will be more predictable.

I'm beginning to worry a lot, although I've applied to the BOWP and the pgwp, my current visa expires really soon

Everything passed since feb 2022 except my older kid's (austistic) medical. My work permit expires end of next month and still didnt apply for the extension. So frustrating tired of waiting.

You should apply, I was hoping that my PR would come before needing to apply and now I'll not have my BOWP when my current expires. That means that I will have an implied status that allows me to continue working but my OHIP will expire and I will not be able to renew it until I get a new visa. That means that you could temporarily lose provincial benefits while in implied status. If your PR comes before the BOWP you can cancel the BOWP and ask for a refund.

Omg, I totally forget about the health Insurance. I'll apply soon. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi there, I saw recently that we can renew it even while we wait.
