i have a question, i saw some post where it's been said that my file was transferred to cpc ottawa on such date. what does that mean and how do you find that out? and why do they transfer files?

Hi,

I have my Ontario PNP issued and my Federal part of PR application is in process. It is under the regular process and not under express entry system. My current status in Canada is open work permit. I plan to get married to my girlfriend in India in January 2016, and plan to add my spouse to my pending PR application soon after I come back to Canada after my wedding.. While I am in India, after my wedding, I plan to apply for her open work permit under the spouse open work permit category.

How does it work? Can one apply for spouse open work permit while that spouse's name is already added on the primary person's PR application? Also, do you think if it is wise to apply for her work permit before I add her name on my PR application? or apply after the name is added? During her work permit application time, do I need to inform CIC that my PR application is under process?

I got married and immediately added my spouse name to PR application.
Then i applied for spouse open work permit and got that.
Now my spouse is in Canada but we are still waiting for our PR in CEC class.

I did my upfront in June 2015 and I received email today saying that we received your medical by our officer.

It just means they received your medicals. It doesn't mean you passed it or it is your time for getting MR. You still need to wait for your turn as August and September applicants are before.

It just means they received your medicals. It doesn't mean you passed it or it is your time for getting MR. You still need to wait for your turn as August and September applicants are before.

Well , it depends on the job profile as well as current Canadian labour market requirements. If your job profile qualifies under these demanding occupation then you get your PR soon brother .( it's just one of the reason out of million )
Some people from June 2015 are waiting for PPR where some people of July 2015 got PPR.
Don't worry Mr August or September applicant !!!

I got ECAS update 2 months ago "Medical results have been received" after I did upfront in May. I am October applicant. So probably in the same situation as you. After that update nothing. My occupation is under demand I believe. Finger crossed for both you are right and we get PR t least till the end of year!

1- We received your application for permanent residence on October 14, 2014.
2- We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 17, 2015.
3- We started processing your application on March 4, 2015.
4- We sent you correspondence on June 30, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. That is probably my T4, NoA and ISrael police check... I had until last Saturday to provide them, but I am still waiting for my NoA so I sent them an email explaining my situation and asking for another delay... Hopefully this won't affect my file
5- We sent you medical instructions on July 1, 2015. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
6- Medical results have been received.
