Thank you for the information guys. Unfortunately, I am applying for my CEC from overseas, in the UK, and this number cannot be reached from outside Canada.

I'm at a bit of a loss what to do, as there doesn't seem to be a phone number to get in touch with the High Commission in London regarding immigration issues. I know that I will probably not get any kind of meaningful response, but at this point I just want to hear somebody say anything!

It can't be that there is no one to talk to if you aren't already in Canada!
Hey,
I am in UK too, download the app on your phone called magicJack, its free and it allows you to make free calls to any US or Canadian number. (it uses wifi or data)
This is what I use :)

Thanks for the tip, but I must still be doing something wrong. This is the number, right? 1-888-242-2100

I've tried that number both with or without international codes, and I can't get connected. How did you dial it?

Hi Guys,

I have been a silent observer till now. Thank you for all the help, specially those hopeful messages :)

I finally gave in and applied for express entry earlier this month. Don't know what CIC is going to do with two applications.
If anyone is in the same situation as I am, please do let me know what CIC does in situation like this.

My first application was under CEC applied on Oct 20th, 2014, AOR Feb 20, 2015.
Invited and applied for EE FSW on Dec 4th, 2015, AOR Dec 18th.

Thank you!

Are you sure this is the correct number?

Is that number still good? I tried it before and it connected to something like the Canadian Trade Development something. Can't quite remember, but I hung up because it didn't sound very immigration-y. Still, I'll try it again. Thanks!

I tried it as recent as 14 Dec and it worked, what country are you calling from? the link below may assist with dialing codes.

Hi guys, I just hung up with CIC, and below is what they said:

Before April 15, 2016 they can not take any action concerning the application since the processing time has not passed (I am not sure how she calculated that since processing time on the website says 14 months so it was supposed to be Dec 15, 2015) but apparently the processing time now has been changed to 18 months ???.

As for the BOWP she said I can apply 30 days before my current PGWP expires regardless to the processing time to get it since after applying for a BOWP (if nothing heard from PR by that time) the person will be on implied status meaning that he can remain in the country and keep working until a decision he receives the work permit extension or gets a decision about his PR application.

Let us keep hope :-X

Cheers!

Note: I am not sure how to add custom title or profile picture, I don't see this option in the profile :(

April 15, 2016 is a known date - 14 months from the point of Oct/2014 applicants receiving AOR. Most of the Oct/2014 applicants received AOR during first/second week of Feb/2015

Hi Friends, how are you?

Wishing you all Merry Christmas and Happy new year 2016,

would like to explain my dependants work permit refusal based on AOR #, when we came in , we have been issued an one year work permit for my dependents and when we renewed the work permit in 2014, CIC issued the WP and advised us to go and do the medical with in a month time, have completed and shared the document through our office and also it has gone through the CIC doctor, but now when we applied this year for renewal of WP based on APR #, i have received the WP because my medical file is with them, but CIC is refused for my dependents saying that they could not find their medical record.

Can you please suggest me what can we do on this situation other than re applying freshly..

thanks a lot in advance for your suggestion

Yuva - firstly, provide us more information on your dependents i.e Spouse, how many kids etc. Also provide us with the information on what sort of Permit they were given initially (like Visitor or Work etc) and also age of your kids as applicable.

In my case, for my Son they had given Visitor Permit when we entered Canada in 2012. He was 3yrs old then. This year when i applied for his TRV from India, they rejected his Visa alone stating that he should be applying for a Study permit and not Visitor (yes, for 6yrs old Kid, they need a Study permit - not kidding). Later i applied for a Study Permit for him from India through which his TRV / entry into Canada was permitted.

I have my spouse and one Son ( 6 years old), i have come to Canada by LMO, based on my Work permit, my wife received an Visa in India without any medical request 2013, while my wife and son entered Toronto, She got open work permit, and again, i have got only one year work permit and again reapplied for renewal, after issuing the workpermit they have asked us to do medical, which we have done it, but now CIC is saying that they dont have that record.
