Also if i apply this way, will the notes carry the details for all my Family members (including my Spouse as last time few of her details were blanked out whereas my kids info were available)
You'll get information about your application with all members included in there.

Hi Friend,
I want to update you on my experience on GCMS notes.
When I applied for GCMS Notes last time, I received an email from "ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca" asking to fill a consent form with mine and my spouse signatures. Below is the excerpt from email I received from them:

You can find the new ATIP consent form at the following link:
http: // www . cic. gc .ca / english /department /atip /form-imm5744 . asp

"Should you wish to receive information pertaining to your family members, please note that the consent of all individuals over the age of 18 is required to process your request and allow us to release their information to you. To be valid, a consent must be signed, recently dated, contain the printed name of the person giving consent and identifies you as the designated individual. Please ensure that the consent form is signed by all applicable parties and has the signature date and date of birth."

I had to
a. print the form from the link given in the email,
b. Fill the details along with mine and my spouse's signature,
c. scan and reply to send that scanned form

Thank you so much my dear Friend. Last time when i applied, i never received any email from the id that you have mentioned. Thanks so much for your timely help and this really helps me a lot.

Hi all
As far as I know only the main applicant needs to ask for the GCMS.
So no dependent info needs to be requested separated

1. Visit https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en
2. Scroll down and check the box "I have read, understood and agree with the above Privacy Notice." and Submit.
3. Select CIC from the drop down. (first field)
4. Select Individual/Corportation present in Canada (Second drop down)
5. Fill in your details (Self explanatory)
6. Select Member of public for "Select the category that best describes you"
7. select "E-mail" for "How would you prefer to receive the requested records" ( choose the mode you are comfortable with)
8. Continue to next page.
9. You dont need to attach any additional documents, unless you want to prove something.
10. Select Privacy Act in next page
11. Submit the final request. Once you submitted the request, wait for one month.

Also you have to select case files in one of the drop down box.

Spoke to CIC as I finished 14 months from the point of submitting of application (10 months from receiving AOR). I was told it is 18 months now from internal meetings in CIC. I believe it is 18 months from receiving AOR. Oct-2014 folks can expect something in Aug-2016 at this rate.

Hello Mridul

I have not applied yet. I am just collecting my documents and will be applying this week.

As far as I know you can have both the applications and they will process it simultaneously and when you get decision on anyone of them you can withdraw the other one.

I may be wrong.

Spoke to CIC agent today regarding this issue. This agent was NOT really helpful and as you know each agent gives a different version/interpretation. The agent I spoke to today indicated old-CEC application may have to be pulled before EE-CEC goes in.

This is what I suspect too..

Hello Mridul

I will ask my lawyer as well, but I am quite sure that we can have two files at same time. I have read this somewhere in this forum as few of the old CEC applicants have already applied for EE. Will keep you posted. Thanks

To speak to someone you should do 1 - 1 - 3 - 1 (after choosing your preferred language).

Thank you for the information guys. Unfortunately, I am applying for my CEC from overseas, in the UK, and this number cannot be reached from outside Canada.

I'm at a bit of a loss what to do, as there doesn't seem to be a phone number to get in touch with the High Commission in London regarding immigration issues. I know that I will probably not get any kind of meaningful response, but at this point I just want to hear somebody say anything!

It can't be that there is no one to talk to if you aren't already in Canada!
