Had applied for BOWP on 11-May, and just now received a mail that its approved. My WP was about to expire on 7-Sep, so that makes it just in time. Patience thoroughly tested.. and now back to the long wait for MR and whatever...
Some relief for the time being though.. ;D
Hi NPrabhu,

I am also a Oct-2014 cec applicant. Did you get the positive eligibility assessment when applied for BOWP? My work permit will expire on Oct 10 but I am not sure if I can apply for BOWP or just extend my work permit as usual.
It is said on the website that
"The bridging open work permit (BOWP) requires that the foreign nationals have submitted their application for permanent residence and that CIC has provided a “positive eligibility assessment”. The positive eligibility assessment is considered to be made when the applicants receive their Acknowledgement of Receipt letter (not notice of receipt of electronic submission) and the following is confirmed in GCMS:..."
Would you mind giving some advice?

Thanks

Daniel

It actually means the AoR. If you applied for RP you probably got this number around February or March (the number looks like E00.....)! You need it to apply for an BOWP.

Hi Daniel,

Yes, as marmaht rightly pointed out; they are referring to the AOR that you might have already received.
You are eligible for applying for the BOWP since you have less than 4 months before your current WP expires. Going by the long processing times for WP extension (almost 120 days now) and the PR process going at snails pace; I would strongly recommend applying for it as soon as you can.

Thanks

Got it. Thanks to you and Marmaht.

Hi guys

Just check my ecas and got 3rd line Oct 7th applicant

1. We received your application for permanent residence on October 7, 2014.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 13, 2015.
3. We started processing your application on February 13, 2015.

Previously the 2nd line used to MEAN something to applicants.

Then, they made it a misleading statement of processing our apps the same day we received our AORs.

We said, Okay, we'll wait for the 3rd line.

Now, they made the 3rd line an unneccassary update of receipt, again for the AoR.

And, we're like, Okay, maybe the 4th line will hold something of value.

Meanwhile, the ECAS site is sad that everyone hits it everyday so many times.

Hello Everyone,

I have a question. I have already applied under CEC last year. I received the invitation for FSW now under express entry.

Can we have 2 files at the same time. One for CEC and other for FSW.

Please advise.

Yes, you can, as long as you have your documents for FSW, police clearances are current and you have the money. :)

I applied EE (FSW) 2 hours back. Tired of waiting for CEC. CEC is too slow. Now, i have 2 applications. I feel much secure. If something goes wrong with one, i still have the backup.

Also, the benefit is that i we have to do medical for EE upfront. I used this for my CEC application too. Hope this fasten my CEC Application.

hey

do u have to submit any documents while creating the EE profile ? what documents, if any, are required just to create the EE profile ?

No documents are needed while creating the EE Profile. You just need to fill your information online and CIC will award you points based on ur age, work experience, language skills, education etc etc.

and while submitting the docs, should your experience letter be recent ? i have an experience letter dated last year (when i applied for cec) and am afraid i won't be able to get one with recent date. i am willing to count that experience. any ideas ?

The reference letter should be after the date of ur work experience. Let me explain it with example. If you worked in a company till 28th April 2014. The reference letter should be dated 28th April or any date after that.

I did the same. I left the company on 28th April 2014. I got the reference letter from that company on 29th April 2014. i used that for CEC. Now, i used the same letter for EE as my letter is on or after the date of the work experience.

Hope i am able to explain well.
