Certainly can. I updated my SIN the day I received my eCOPR. I also went in and updated my Health Card (in AB, if you're on a WP it has an expiry date) the day I got it as well.

Remember, when you update your SIN, you need to update your Payroll with the new info. I also let my Banks know as well.

AOR 21 May
Bio/UCI got linked on 4th August
However, my medicals are not started on tracker and cannot see them passed on gckey
Status of Biometrics is Completed on tracker.
Anyone knows what might be the issue with medicals not being started on tracker?
Been trying to find this out for a while and still no answer.
Same issue with ours. Everything is completed but medicals is in progress. We received a letter remedicals for the main applicant

Hi, I called the IRCC, and they told me that it's a mistake from their side. And the agent put a note on my application for the visa officer saying that I don't require to do biometric as I am an exempt from it. She also told me that they should not ask me for my biometrics, but if they do, I have to go for the biometrics.
Thank you for the update! I think I'll need to call them too to make sure I'll have the note as well.

Hello,

Can someone please me understand the exact status as GC key and IRCC status tracker shows some discrepancy

CEC
AOR 28th May

GC KEY

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check: Not applicable.

Status tracker

Biometrics: In progress. As part of the process we may ask you to send us your fingerprints and photo. Read more about biometrics collection
Medical exam: Completed.
Eligibility: Not started
Background verification: In progress

Question:

1) Are medicals passed? Last week we received a ghost update on GC key regarding medicals being passed but now it disappeared.

2) For my spouse IME expiry date is June 2023 in application portal. But based on IRCC guidelines, new medicals are not required if person is in Canada and completed medicals in last 5 years. Do we need to worry about this expiry date from IRCC application portal

3) GC keys has biometrics updated but not sure why its not reflected in status tracker

4) Finally, did final review start based on above status updates?

TIA

I just noticed in my gc key the background check changed to "We are checking your background......" from NOT APPLICABLE.

This was on aug 17, May 7, AOR.

Has anyone else noticed this change, and how long did it take from there?

1) From my personal experience, my medicals were marked as complete on the tracker very early - maybe 2 weeks after AOR, and had the same status of your medical results on Gckey. Mine were valid at the time of submission, but expired 3 months after AOR. It was marked "in progress" again on the tracker when my eligibility was completed as they were actually reviewing the medical results (and this seems to be the final check in the application). It was only then, the tracker changed back to complete, and GCKey changed to "You passed the medical exam"

2) If you are Inland, no. My medical results expired 3 months after I got AOR. They did send me for another medical exam, however a couple days after that request, they changed my expiry date to 12 months after they reviewed it.

3) Wouldn't worry about that. If your Biometric details are shown in GCKey, they've got them. It'll be marked complete once they finalize background check (if not earlier - as this is part of the info sharing stage)

4) Not necessarily. Your Eligibility needs to be progress. Once Eligibility is complete then you know you're in final verification / approval stages (that is if all 4 sections are complete)

Do any of you got two separate protal 1 emails for you and for spouse? In this case, should we need to respond to both the emails with all applicants?

If you want to have the whole families information in the same portal, reply to the email and add everyone's details in and use the same email address for the "portal email" question.
